    Good description…” Putting two and two together”. We all know it’s speculation , it really is that simple. It’s 50%-50% right/wrong. In this case I hope it’s right. Anyone have evidence thatSunderland are “ chasing him” . Another piece of speculation …why? Near Hull??

    It used to be “ Not bad”, we went again post pandemic…..It’s not very nice now with lots and lots of empty shops. I can’t speak for Bradford?

    Plenty of time left, but we do need to bring in real quality.

    I feel like we've got a lot of squad players, but not many players of obvious high quality.

    At the minute, we look like one of many teams of comparable quality; as yet, we have no edge.

    Hopefully that means the best signings are still to come.

    Well according to Mr. Sparks we are able to compete with other clubs.
    Offer the lad a decent wage, complete with a promotion bonus, plus the captaincy and you never know.
    We have to fight it out for the decent players.

    We have signed Walker proven quality as for the rest let’s hope for once we have found real quality before it becomes expensive and we have got the scouting right

    Hopefully that's not just Sparks being incredibly naive.

    We've already lost our captain to Lincoln City, hardly the biggest L1 club in the world.

    We're going to look silly if we're assuming we can compete with Peterborough United, etc, because 'we have Mark Hughes'.

    We couldn't compete with Lincoln for Paudie....

    Sparks talks a good game, and I credit the club for having a go at this kind of deal, but I don't fancy our chances...

    Especially given he's worked with McCann before. Chance to play in league one and gain promotion and then contribute in the championship the next year is probably a good sell to him.

    That's the conundrum isn't it and hopefully that's where MH will earn his money. Assuming we are in a position to offer the same wages, it's up to Hughes to convince a player he would be better off playing for him and being part of "the project", rather than the quick fix of a lower league 1 team

    I think there's an element of our fanbase that is massively over-egging the pudding with regards Hughes.

    It's great we have him, but we're still a League Two side who have a very poor owner in place - anyone can look at our progress under Rupp, or even Sparks, and notice we've done nothing but regress.

    But some of our fans were convinced Blackburn Rovers would want Hughes because he's such a massive name, but when you see what they actually did - they went out and got the ex-Malmo manager who has recent Champions League experience as a gaffer - you'll see how unrealistic those 'concerns' were.

    Hughes is a massive deal in L2, obviously, an incredible name. But does his prowess extend to out-muscling League One sides in the transfer market? Honestly, probably not. Is he a big deal by Championship club standards? No.
