Boars Head could be a spoonerism

 

The Bee has come to the fore in Manchester after the arena bombing, I suspect no one would have either known or cared about it before that mate.

 

Can we stop referring to it as a “pig”! Same way some call the bantam a “chicken”. Shows frivolity and disrespect in my opinion

 

The results were published here. The suggestion was that around 5,000 completed the survey so a sizeable sample size.

A few key highlights in relation to the boar discussion:

• 90% said the Bantam should remain on the crest.
• Unclear on the graph, but when asked "Which animal most represents the club?", over 95% said Bantam and less than 5% said Boar.

In relation to what the survey might lead to, I'm paraphrasing but Sparks mentioned on his latest Radio Leeds interview that it was a helpful exercise so the club could consider how to approach modernisation. He mentioned that the current design of the badge provides complications in a few different areas - presumably this came up when speaking to new kit providers as well as the club trying to adapt digitally.

 

Interesting, cheers for that.

I think Sparks is correct, keep the identity then but modernise the design of the crest.

Been years since I’ve been in but wasn’t that shop we had on south parade rather small ?

CEO has explained that they moved away from the claret band as this season would be the third one in a row with the same sponsor so it was decided to go retro. The strip in question it was modeled on wasn't one that is associated with any success or evocative memories.

 

I think we’ll have “bantams” on the back. Could be what RS was trying to gauge in the survey.

‘Well’, I’m glad we steered away from the mainstream manufacturer templates (in this particular case), such as Nike, as ours looks nothing like that.
