Is this hearsay or fact that the players found out by social media that Hughes was the new manager or who was retained?

They shouldn't be finding out on social media about being released OR about their new manager.

Cooke is probably on 3x the wages of Sutton and not getting in ahead of Walker, that would make him an expensive bench player

It's been clear for weeks that Hughes doesn't rate Cooke. I used to like him, but he's become a luxury player that we can't afford. He doesn't create or score enough goals and often slows our play down. He will be on decent money from when we were in L1. He's never getting in ahead of Walker or Pereira (if we were to re-sign him).
Sutton can cover a number of positions and, with his pace, is a good option from the bench when defenders are tiring. It makes perfect sense to keep Sutton and not Cooke

 

They're totally different. Sutton equally does things Cooke cant/doesn't. Are you discounting those?

 

Yes. I'm not sure Manager turning up on first day and meeting the players, is anything to throw at the club.
