When was the last time we announced a signing so soon after the season finished, excluding Angol? Good to see us get it sorted quickly for once.

i liked Cooke a lot but this lad is another level up. What a signing this is!

His first few games for us was excellent. Looked a level above. His form did dip off over the next few months, but that came as no surprise considering the level everybody else was playing at. Performances have improved under Hughes slowly.

But with a full pre season ahead an here’s hoping a better team around him next season, I see no reason as to why Walker cant shine. Won’t be surprised if he gets 20/25 G+A next year. Has all the attributes associated with players at a higher level in his position. Good awareness with an without the ball, Good close control an can dribble with the ball, is not afraid to take shots from in or outside the box (Can’t remember the last time we had someone like that, Clarke perhaps?)

We need a solid defence behind him an a mobile striker ahead to play off Angol. Do that an we’re half way there to getting a promotion worthy side

 

Pretty fair resume. He’s been bloody good, considering he came as a loanee and allegedly not match fit!

I think Vernam will choose the best pay packet for him and his family, and who can begrudge him.

It says nothing of the sort. If he's had an offer of better wages and a higher level of football then good luck to the lad. Comments like that are a bit disrespectful to both the player and the club he's potentially moving to.

 

I’ve just seen that Vernam is actually from Lincoln, so he’d be back to his home town club.

I have to agree with every word . His timings when arriving in the box gets him the goals. I can easily see him contributing 10 over a season. One huge pointer that Cooke will go imho. He offers nothing in comparison.
