I have no interest in any other CEO or their comments. Only the one at my football club. And for a lot of the time he talks hot air. But then he's also done some good work too. Just needs to cut out the David Brent stuff that has no substance to it.

I don’t like FGR for the dreadful football they play but I like their green ethos. I was actually invited as a guest of a friend of Vince to the game in early 2020 which ended up cancelled. I’d like to see City with a real vision and drive like that, I’m not sure what though, but I’d like to see them do something other than cheap tickets and serial underachievement that makes them stand out from the rest. Part of the problem in my opinion is the Luddite nature of a lot of Bradford, the city as a whole not just football, and my own belief that the demographics of the city are changing such that the future fan base is uncertain unless there is a sea change in the direction of the club.

 

Bradfords demographic has changed immeasurably over the last couple of decades compared to Leeds on our doorstep. It would one hell of a brave business person ( see what I did?) to take a chance in a city that has very little going for it in. Rupp clearly knew nothing about us a club or our City history wise otherwise he would have stayed well clear.

 

I’m not arsed about an owner who throws money about, let’s be honest out of the 92 teams it’s rare and they’re unlikely to choose a club with no assets and high overheads. But what you put about in 10 years time as with the Man City owners, the fact they thought in them terms showed they have an interest and are wanting to stay long term. Like with the Forest Green owner, who they’ve just released images of their new hotel, stadium training complex. This is a village team that I have to say I’m growing envious of, he isn’t doing it to throw money away it’s obviously for his own benefit but will also bring the club along with him, if only.

I’d settle for an owner who’s just interested in the club, has off the field ideas to grow it with an actual tangible plan not just talk and sees themselves still here in 10 years time. Maybe has a vision they live by, like if they say they’re going to focus on youth development and playing an attractive brand of football actually sticking to it and not hiring a Derek Adams type manager.

Another example is Chesterfield, hated their owner and dropped out of the football league. They’ve now got a bit of investment, I.e signing the odd asset and have just brought in Paul Cook. Wouldn’t surprise me if they come up and are above us next season. Stockport again similar. I won’t mention Wrexham as they’re a freak occurrence I don’t think anyone could have seen that purchase happening.

We couldn't score and we hadn't shown any ability to sign a good goalscorer all Summer long so I didn't expect anything to change as much as I might want the club to surprise me I never believed that they would

 

Now the Bank of England have raised the interest rates I'll be keeping a hold until we mathematically cant make the play offs it might make me 0.00050 pence interest I'll pay mate.
Although at the time of our bet I still had hopes of 7th place, decisions need making or at least be straight with fans and tell us the owner and CEO still have faith he can deliver, as yet I've not heard his post match interview, that boat may have sailed if Adams is having a go at fans.

Wish he had the interest his fellow country men had back in the 1800's. They brought business acumen into Bradford and created wealth for the City's woollen mills, built Little Germany,St Georges Hall,The Ear,Nose and Throat Hospital and supported the Halle Orchestra amongst other things...sadly not so Herr Rupp it would seem!

I don’t think Sparks knows what he’s doing. Just watched his latest interview he looks tired and defeated with all the old same cliches and nonsense. Think it’s time for a total restructure. Of course the cherry on the cake would be Rupp selling, but I just can’t see it.
