Are they? Maybe. But give it time FFS Park.

Walker - excellent debut, very quiet in the following 2 games.
Daly - Anonymous debut, half decent 2nd game, for which his heavily deflected goal doesn't really illustrate that he (and the time) were otherwise pretty flacid.
Bass - Very good debut. But its 1 game.

Personally I would prefer to see a decent ball winning midfielder to help stop us being pinned back in our own half

The only club stupid enough to sign Robinson, is us.

Of course and the same applies with Elliot let’s see how it works out before criticism

I was delighted with the Wyke signing. We speculated and it paid off. I was always a Doyle sympathiser. We managed to feck that up though. Royally.

An excellent signing. Quality striker. Big strong tall and powerful. Just what we need. Also to know we have beaten Stockport County to his signature is very refreshing.

I'm critical of Adams and his football, but pre Christmas we were creating plenty of chances but God awful finishing cost us time and time again. Now admittedly since new year we've created very little in games but if that's the type of side we now are, then clinic finishers are even more essential.

I wasn't dancing around my Office. But I can see the logic. I don't get why this has you questioning our promotion ambitions. Not getting Bass and making do with the other keepers would support your theory. I don't think you sign five players in January if you're not trying to improve. Let's remember even though the footie can be trying at times, we don't lose much and are 5 & 8 points of the play-offs and automatic. It isn't as though vast improvement is needed. Out of the teams above us, I'd only rate Forest Green, Tranmere and Port Vale as been better - but even then it's marginal.

Surely with Cook, Lavery, Robinson, Walker, Pereira and this signing to say nothing of the creativity of Vernon and potential midfield goals from Daley - we should have enough to get that vital average of 1.5 goals per game.

Let's remember we've not seen a fully fit Lavery. The pandemic etc has probably done him a favour.

Clearly, Adams isn't letting any of these go and he's emphasised the need for almost a second squad - so they will figure.

Very good points General. Cook isn't a target man so this guy could take the physical pressure off him. Looking at Cook's reaction in the T&A to the Rochdale defender I think he is getting close to reacting to all the challenges from behind and shirt tugging. This guy could give him the support he needs. Andy Cook is a goalscorer, this could free him up more and create space for goals from Arthur Daley and Johnnie Walker.

I think Covid had a far bigger impact, than even the club realise. If you've got 17 affected, then you're going to be lucky if all 17 come roaring back as if nothing has happened.

I thought the Salford second half, which admittedly had Bowyer playing into our hands with his defensive tactics, was our best half since the Bristol Rovers or Forest Green first half.

It's be interesting to see how it pans out. I like Adams determination to have a big squad for these final 20 or so matches - we saw in 15/16 that made a difference and going the other way, arguably cost automatic in 16/17

Rochdale's needs were far more pressing than ours as they've just sold Beesley to Blackpool, for a fee.

And where on earth is a known fact that we 'lost out' to Luke Charman?

And why do you think we need a 24 year old National North player who plays in a similar style to Cook / Elliot?

Also, what arrogance. If you look at the average league table positions since 2008/9 - you'll find that Rochdale have been higher than us.

The only way you'll get your feet back on the ground, is if you perhaps have a crash course in the harsh reality of running a footie club that rarely produces anyone worth buying and doesn't own it's own ground!!

Anyway good luck to the lad. As long as he puts in 100%. I hold my hand up that I questioned the signing of Bass, and on his debut at least I was proved wrong. Let’s hope he’s consistent, and if he is, he’s better than the two other keepers. If Elliot is better than Robinson and Lavatory, then that’s also an improvement.

Looking forward to watching him on Saturday.

They're not mutually exclusive options. Every signing at every club has an instinctive fan reaction. That doesn't mean he won't be supported or that people want it to fail. But this smacks of so many half arsed, on the cheap and unambitious signings we make.

I don’t mind this signing, I’ve been saying for weeks we need a back up target man for Cook. He’s not the fittest and we look awful, even worse than normal, when he isn’t on the pitch. Not expecting to rely on him for the goals if he can keep the ball up field and bring those behind him into play which is something we struggle with then good.

I do worry though that this is our last signing, we still need a first choice striker imo and a RB. That’s if we want to go for promotion that is, which I don’t think we’re capable of. Prove me wrong.

Absolutely agree and I’d much rather Elliott than an untried loan who might hit the ground running or (most likely from recent young loan strikers) run around like rabbits in headlights.

On paper there are players around Cook and Elliott that if they choose to turn up, have enough about them to be a threat up front.

On Tuesday Cook looked knackered and risking him as our only outlet would have seen the season fall away very quickly. I’m not saying the season will be defined by this signing, but I do believe it’s strengthening an area which gives us at least a small hope of starting to piece together the points we desperately need.

I think this signing can be filed under sensible. Adams has acknowledged that he prefers a certain route in January and its one you can understand. At this level when it comes to strikers you usually have to pay over the odds and take a bit of a risk like Salford have done with Matt Smith, or take a punt on a young lad from higher up the leagues who's barely played a first team game like Newport yesterday.

With Elliot, its a short term deal and we know he'll provide better a better option and more appropriate cover for our first choice striker than Robinson & Lavery. I think it's a smart addition and hopefully he is as good as the last L2 striker we signed on loan in January.

We had no one to hold it up at Walsall, so in that respect, this signing makes some sense. I’d like to see 4-4-2 with Adams pairing him with Cook but that just isn’t Adams’ way. We know Cook struggles fitness wise so this signing should relieve some pressure and give us a better rotation option.

As Wilsden has said above, I still worry there’s no sign of a RB or a main striker.

    Threlkeld is so so bad.

Spot on. I wrote that it reminds me of Parky in the 15/16 season, when he kicked us on into the play-offs.

It's getting very worrying, considering our many difference of opinions in the past, just how much I agree with you these days ;).

Its a pitiful signing. The salford fans think hes shite why would he change his spots at 31 years old and be a worldy for us?

Sparks out, Rupp out and Adams can stay til end of the season then out.

Right now we could have heavy investment from a bunch of people who know how to make money. But instead we are taking loans from a club who when we were beating chelsea were 7 divisions below us. Its embarrassing and this player is a testament to it. Bradford crappy city in a nutshell
