This too. I miss not sitting there thinking 'why haven't we got someone like that?' every single game I watch. Even yesterday I was thinking that watching Done and Newby. The only player that comes close is Vernham and he's hot and cold.

I thought Dylan Connolly got the crowd excited every time he got the ball. He was absolutely rapid but his end product was very inconsistent. He was the most passionate player in the squad which was funny considering he was only on loan. He also scored the best goal we've had in a while...

Anyway, I miss believing we could beat anyone and pull back any deficit. I also miss aiming for promotion from League One and not to it.

At the time I thought he was crap, but I’d snap your hand off for him now. Testament to how we are successful season on season at regressing.

    Sorry but no.
He was part of a very very poor side.
A big part of that side.

Missed out on Harrogate tickets today, even though we have Priority Away membership and do you know what I’m not that bothered, not angry that others have, slightly glad I’m not going to waste another day on BCAFC and that’s the worry.

Usually I would have been gutted, but with the current dull, flat atmosphere at Valley Parade I started to think what’s the point. Club is desperate for a new direction, but it’s never going to come. Think I will spend the afternoon watching either Steeton or Guiseley, may be the effort will be rewarded.

I must have spent over £1,000 with BCAFC this year, season tickets, 1903 memberships, priority away & did a sponsorship match package. That and a few away games and part from Mansfield away I can’t remember a game I enjoyed. My lad works Saturdays now, and is losing interest after nearly 15 years. After over 30 years I’m starting to see his point. Nothing is going to change., it’s been 7 years since we had anything to cheer about. A succession of false promises from the owner & his board, endless player failures and nothing to pin our hopes on for this season now, mean I’m not that arsed.

My lad’s season ticket will not be renewed next season, I will cut back on away days & spend at City will be down to 1 season ticket at the most.

Sorry, but come on Rupp, Sparks, Adams give us something to look forward to & buy into again which is backed up with real ambition & funding before we all drift off.

a bit of quality to make our time on the ball count when we get to play, and a bit of nous and aggression to stop them playing effectively when they have it. That year or so period where regardless of who was in the middle teams just ran through us all was soul destroying after having someone like gary jones in there.

This is the sad reality for a lot of fans I think. Even though I haven’t lived in Yorkshire now for a long time, years ago I would make as much effort as I could to make away games that were within 2 hours drive of where I lived in Surrey or the in-laws in the Cotswolds. As seasons of decline wore on I started to find more enjoyment going to watch local teams in the Isthmian leagues.

Now living in the Netherlands we have the fortunate benefit of accessing every home and away league game via iFollow. Benefit is great, however the pain is the same and actually for the most part the games are frustrating and not entertaining.

I’ve seen many posts referencing a plan to believe in, players to get excited by and to relate to etc etc - couldn’t be more true!!
