Yeah it's the thought process of ours that never ceases to amaze me. Angol and his hamstrings have been an accident waiting to happen and Adams clearly doesn't rate Robinson or Lavery but all we've brought in are three players who play in pretty much the same space on the field. A striker should have been in by now and those not rated by the manager should have been farmed out. Instead it looks like Andy Cook will have to be flogged despite not being match fit. But hey we might have a new keeper soon.

There's such a clear out needed again that it beggars belief. Signing a keeper was needed but with the loss of Angol at the weekend, it makes the move look a bit nonsensical. It looks like we've no intention of spending money so the chances are the last loan position will be 4th choice striker or 18 year old kid.

This window has the scatter gun feel of the Collins disastrous window under Rahic.

    BANTAMS CATCH BASS ON LOAN
    [IMG]
We are delighted to announce the loan capture of goalkeeper Alex Bass - who joins from Sky Bet League One side Portsmouth!

The 23-year-old stopper arrives at the Utilita Energy Stadium on a deal until the end of the 2021/22 season.

At 6ft 3ins, Bass has seven appearances to his name for Pompey this season, keeping two clean sheets in as many League One starts.

The Eastleigh-born ‘keeper graduated from the Fratton Park academy, and has also served time on loan at Salisbury, Torquay United and Southend United, as well as winning the PFA League One Player of the Month award in February 2020.

He said: “It is a pleasure to be here. The manager has been watching me for a while and spoke about the opportunity to come to Bradford City, and it was one I was delighted to take.

“Playing in front of vocal supporters is something I am used to from my time at Portsmouth. I am looking forward to playing football in front of a great fanbase up here, and taking on a new challenge. I cannot wait to get going.

“I have a couple of days of training now to get to know the boys and build relationships with everyone, before getting ready to attack the game on Tuesday.”

City manager Derek Adams said: “Alex is a player I have watched for a number of years at Portsmouth, so I am pleased to be able to bring him to the club.

“He came through the youth system at Portsmouth when I was manager of Plymouth Argyle. He is very highly thought of there and arrives with me having monitored his progress closely.

“Alex has experience of playing in League One with Portsmouth this season, and carries a lot of attributes I value in a goalkeeper, so I am looking forward to seeing him perform at Bradford City.”

Bass will wear No.12 for the Bantams. His signing is subject to the relevant EFL and FA clearances.

    Another loan??

A position we didn’t need to fill.

What a joke! What a mess!

We should try a loan move for Stephen Humphrys, he isn’t pulling up trees at Wigan and They have just signed Magginis which will knock him down the pecking order. Not a prolific strike but his hold up play is decent and his goal return wasn’t to bad in his last season at Rochdale. Since it looks like we need more than one striker I think he is a good option.

Don’t see how these loan moves him us now to be honest.

Loans should be done at the start of the season.

I can hear the post signing interview.

'Derek, you must be pleased to get this deal over the line?'

'I suppose. I mean, he's no Lee Angol but we can't expect Theo and Caolon to be the only ones taking the bench spots'

If I was Turnbull, I’d be either pissed off or laughing my tits off about this new scouting network. Total joke bringing in the same last minute panic loans like we always do!

To be fair signing your loans in January guarantees you’ve got them for the business end of the season. The flip side is your so far behind that decent players won’t come to play mid table league 2 football.

Note to media team - if you thought sticking an exclamation mark after the word Portsmouth would make this announcement more exciting than it actually is, you were wrong.

We never seem to learn do we?

Planning for January has already started, we will be ready, already identified targets, we know areas we need to strengthen, etc,etc etc. All lines trotted out regularly by the club. Yet, as the final week of January hits, where are we? Apparently still missing out on said targets and yet throwing in random signings which no apparent thought process behind them.

Despite all the waffle, our recruitment so far has been....

A twenty year old version of lord Lucan, signed presumably on the premis of developing him (for Luton not us). One game this year for Yeovil, a winger signed to play in a team had doesn't play with wingers despite starting the season with arguably five of them.

Matt Daly, signed to develop for Huddersfield s benefit. Recently in and out of the Hartlepool side, with a goals tally heavily inflated by goals against under 18s in the Mickey mouse cup. Signed but then played out of position on his debut, presumably because we have an abundance players already capable of playing his preferred position.

Jamie walker, could be anything hopefully will go well but Definite uncertainty regarding his reliability, one start in a year (his debut here) shows this.

Now we end up being linked with a goalkeeper, with 8 league starts since 2018, and loan spells with non league clubs. Presumably on peanuts so we can save on RODs wage.

I'm sorry but this club drives me up the wall, hopefully far enough up the wall, I won't be arsed renewing next year because I'm sick of it

Sorry, I’m not sure what the first comment is in reference to.
As for loans I’m Jan, I think it’s a good time to take decent players that are not getting game time. Players like Stephen Humphrys will not get the chance now. Wigan want promotion, we need 2 strikers. We won’t be permanently signing 2 strikers and I would rather get him than a completely unknown kid.
He is a good option. I do understand that getting a loan mid season isn’t ideal but it’s needed.

At least we're consistent. Bringing in a player with hardly any first team experience, who is probably not better than what we already have, is what we've done every transfer window. It's a total joke, and I'm beginning to think that Rupp doesn't want us going any further up the league ladder, because it's going to cost him more money. He's happy plodding along, taking out his dividends or whatever he does. Sooner or later, Sparks is going to realise that his career is going down the spout, and he'll be making moves to clear off. Then what will Rupp do?
