I think Adams favourite flavour is a 4-2-3-1, he used it mostly with Morecambe as well.
Quite a common formation at the moment.
When faced with Cook's absence and leaving Robinson or Angol up top on their own, Adams will go to a 5-3-2,mostly to stop the laughing.

I wonder if both signings are with a view to being made permanent in the summer if they do well. There’s been no mention of keeping them beyond their current deals, although Luton wanted him to get game time even though his contract is up in the summer.

 

Walker is out of contract in the summer and I think he has come here to put himself in the shop window so to speak. If he does well, he may attract interest from other clubs, so we might have a fight on our hands.

Don't think we have a chance with Pereira who is rated at Luton. He is here to get regular game time

I think he can play wing, forward, attacking midfield, so he could actually replace Cooke in midfield.

Cooke was really poor against Carlisle, whereas I'd have thought he'd be geed up after a little time on the bench.

Just as much as footie ability, we need two or three more of them.

It's significant that unless we have Canavan, Songo'O and Sutton all on the pitch and starting, we tend to underperform.

Those three all played in the Swindon, Forest Green and Exeter (home in the FA Cup) consecutive games and no-one can complain about the performance as all these should have been wins. Even two of them on the pitch has given us the only time we've scored four goals and a very good draw at Port Vale. Tranmere is the only game we've lost and played poorly where all three have played.

Contrast that with the dire performances at Crawley and Carlisle, we had just one of those playing there (I don't include Barrow, which was largely poor - because of the numbers recovering Covid)

But we know this. It's quite simple. If for the past five years, we'd had characters similar to Darby, Davis, McCardle, Doyle Jones and Garry Thompson (remember some of his performances as the end of the glory season? we'd probably be in The Championship.

Like Parky, Adams gets that and I won't be surprise to see a few more 'personalities' joining.

It is that simple, find them and making sure there is a harmonious mix with the current players, is of course another matter!!

Has been their best player up until now. Apparently he’s been in poor form this season. He’s effectively the Hanson of Burnley. If Wood is playing then Burnley have to play a certain way to accommodate him. I'd say for the fee they got for him, Both parties won in this deal
