136 years, 4 months and 28 days ago today if you want to be precise, unlike your mate. I remember it well, nice summers day, but I was wrapped up like it was December due to the throat cancer.

Still, only five months or so until the 200th anniversary of my birth. Think I might have a party, with my mate "cump" to celebrate.

IF at any point 5k came then one person went five years afterwards “up to” 5K is still correct.

you cant have one person come up and then suggest up to some random number.

the stadium holds UP TO 25k doesn't mean its full every week.

    Genuine questions,
1, Of those 7 teams currently sat in the automotive and play off positions which have a chairman/owner/s who’s spent more money than Bradford City?
2, which of those clubs are realistic of mounting challenges to say the Championship during a Pandemic and have the infrastructure in place to do so? Even if it takes say 5 years.
3, which of those clubs has a fan base and potential say with a large stadium and along with other revenue streams to get there and stay there and might just have a chairman or owner with deep pockets that one day when we finally have an injury free season, non diabolical referees and some Lady Luck (no fixtures cancelled because of a pandemic) might just lord pray get us to the promised land.
I’d be careful what you all wish for,….. there’s some of us who just the thought of having a football team to follow during what has been an horrendous couple of years, losing loved ones, losing jobs, cancelled operations etc etc etc yet where Bradford City are sat in a league table in December 2021 is the be all and end all of life.
I’m sure if you had served for months out in the Gulf, Bosnia and Afghanistan to come home and be lucky enough to watch your team on a Saturday afternoon you’d put it all in to perspective. We are never going to be Liverpool or Man City. We are Bradford City and our place has always been in the khazi leagues with the odd flutter with higher divisions. Adams might not promote us but also the chances of unearthing a McCall, Hendrie, Abbot, Evans, Beagrie, Blake and Lawrence might be near on impossible,….. just a thought. Enjoy the game, one day it will all fall into place. January might help us to get there or it might be next season. It’s a funny old game

    Christ.

up to does not mean every single week.

the stadium holds up to 25k. Does that mean its full every week? Or are you now saying the ground capacity is a lie?

for a definition because for some reason people are struggling with this very simple phrase.

    up to

    phrase of up

    1. 1.
      as far as.
"I could reach just up to his waist"
      • 2.
        indicating a maximum amount.
"the process is expected to take up to two years"

The maximum amount of POTD is 5K. so what are you on about?

Isn't that against EFL rules ? Perhaps they realised that on Friday. Anyone got the number for that Italian lunatic who wanted us in 2016 ?

The investors are attracted by the change in price of the NFT's so leaving questions of liquidity aside it's similar to choosing between Apple when their share price is holding steady or some two bit PLC that's having a bit of a bounce in their share price. The short term changes in the share price gets flagged up on your trading platform and attract a certain type of investor who's probably not overly concerned about the brand but more the opportunity to capitalise on the volatility.

Most football NFT's seem to have followed the pattern of: a large fast increase in value quickly followed by an equally fast and sizeable decrease in value and then held steady. The initial volatility attracts the investors who buy and sell very quickly to make profit and won't return unless there's another change in value. The average fan side of things is slightly different because the motivation is probably more about supporting the club than making a profit. A lot (if not all) of the football NFT's have some "utility" built in, so you're not just getting a collectible, you can use it for something, I think Leeds have some which enable holders to vote on songs played on the PA and I think that it's Inter who have just done one being able to vote on a logo in a new kit but it could be anything, your FCD avatar could entitle you to a free pie each week which if you wanted to sell it might not be attractive to a silicon valley investor but it could be attractive to a fan.

One of the dangers is that fans get caught up in the speculative bubble and lose out. It's one thing if the silicon valley investor loses their money on us, they'll just move on to the next opportunity but a fan is not going to just move on and that could result in a lot of resentment buiding up.

I haven't seen an exact figure for Hartlepool either, but did read (Parker's T&A feed or twitter?) 700+.
    Forest Green was 152.
    Colchester was 113.

Not getting it are you. The post suggested it was happening regularly when it's happened once. All the other times are less than 2,400 walk up. You can quote the definition of "up to" as many times as you want but factually he's wrong in that we aren't getting "up to" 5,000 POTD.

It's like saying you can have sex up to six times a night because you did it once when you were 19.

"Loving you / isn't the right thing to do..."

'City' for 'you' doesn't really work unless you mangle the phrasing a bit. Now who do we know on here who could (and often does) give us a suitable one-syllable word? Hmmm....

when did he suggest it was happening every week? I for one didn't see that at all?

good you actually understand how up to works.

factually there was nothing wrong with what he said. it may be lower now than it was then but the use of up to is perfectly correct. much like how we say the capacity of the ground is up to 25k but rarely hits it. the amount of times it does get full or meets the maximum is irrelevant.

How can I, when you can't score a goal
We can call it another drawing game
Cocking up's all you wanna do
We can call it another drawing drawing game

Bore off fellah, I've got better things to do than argue the semantics of "up to". I'm off to clean my gerbils out.

As much as it pains me to back up anything Park says his original post was technically correct in its wording. I don't think he did mention every game being upto 5k.

Yes, I mean hopefully they knew that and were thinking of different countries or preferably continents but even leaving the ethics of it aside from a City perspective, it does sound like their plan for global football domination was probably more advanced than their plan to buy a L2 football club and get promotion.
