Once. It happened once in 11 matches.

    Right…

how does that make “up to” wrong?

as much as you like to protest he is still correct in what he said.

I've mentioned it a couple of times but amidst all the fuss no one has really paid attention to the part of the Wagmi plan which involved using Bradford City revenues to fund other football clubs. Just in case anyone has any lingering thoughts that the Wagmi deal might possibly have been any good, that one thing alone should have been enough to get them sent packing:

    True.

Then 4549 is the biggest uptake of non season ticket holders at a game this season, with an uptake of 29260 paying and non paying support beyond. Or an average of 2660 per game.

    Semantics.
Im now rushing off to tell the wife I now earn “up to” £50k a week. She’ll be well pissed off when I tell her it’s actually £500 a week but it could be anywhere between 0 and 50k.

How does that suggest they intend to use Bradford City revenue to fund other clubs?

Seems like you're trying to find a bunch of faults that aren't there, not being satisfied with the ones that clearly are real and genuine concerns.

A multinational collection of football clubs isn't anything new or original, and it certainly doesn't suggest Bradford City would be propping up others financially.

You could have one person turn up and “up to 5000” would be correct. But it’s the misleading bullshit Boris gives you when he says he’s going to give a million boosters a day

Why would that be impressive when you buy ST's before the season starts? People are buying season tickets because the promise is each season, a promotion push, typically focusing on automatics. It didn't come to the end of the season and 12k fans thought to themselves, "15th! well that was worth my money, better buy an ST to show my appreciation".

The only reason why the figures were any where near that high again this season was because we got Adams, and yet again the focus was on automatic promotion. Now that it's obvious we're stuck in this division under Rupp I can guarantee those figures will drop.

Why should it because they have the same idea as the Man City owners and Red Bull? Yeah I’d hate to be part of a chain of successful clubs around the world, sounds awful. Man City fans must be desperate for their owners out.

The business plan was 1) buy the club 2) increase revenue 3) use increased revenue to expand the club and take a cut for Wagmi. Absolutely fine and dandy, if a someone wants to invest in City and take a cut of the revenue to spend on cars, yachts or cocaine then that's up to them and most people would accept that's how things work. What they're saying is that cut they take out of City would go in to purchasing another club. This is hugely different to the RB model or a feeder club model.

Thanks, that's a really good article.

Notwithstanding the rest of it, it seems to confirm that the market for exploiting NFT memorabilia will be mainly City fans and a community of NFT collectors around the world. It still begs the question of why would a multi millionaire in Silicon Valley want to 'invest' in memorablia from a small 'soccer' club in England. And secondly why would City fans do the same when cheap memorabilia is available from the club shop?

Yes, there's certainly a growing market in digital art fuelled by NFTs. But there is a world of difference from the likes of Banksy and Beeple seling their one-off digital art creations for millions into a collectibles market compared to a small soccer club selling non-unique images of its players when there are Panini cards to be collected.

If I'm mistaken and there really are multi millionaires out there who want to invest in City memorabilia via NFTs, maybe Sparks can now get his Commercial team looking at this as a way to increase the club's income? There are plenty of 3rd parties out there already experienced in the NFT markets who would do it for a cut of the revenues. We don't even need new owners to do that! ;)

I suspect they thought we were a potentially 'big' club that could be acquired relatively cheaply.

I agree there is no harm in experimenting with NFTs as a way of generating supplemental income.
So long as the core business is ring-fenced.

I'd be interested to see exactly why 'senior figures' at the club were so hostile to the offer and what their motives were.
Without clear transparency many will conclude that self interest was a factor.

So after the last few years of poor form our average home attendance is over a 1000 up on 19/20 . Yes I know not all season ticket holders attend every game and we may lose a few next year unless we have a better second half of the season but I still believe there will be a good take up

Nothing to do with no football to attend in 18 months and fake promises of a competitive squad ?. Our season tickets are up, out actual attendances are not. I have no idea if you went to the Sutton match but the "actual" attendance was no more than 7,000 and both Colchester & Hartlepool were probably under 10,000.

The Oldham match is an anomaly, first live match since Feb 2020 and was always going to be a bumper crowd. Since then not one of the stated attendances have been accurate.

I think the idea is they release a bunch of NFT's related to an unpopular, little known brand like Bradford City, and all those who get in on the 'ground floor' are then hoping that they can actually achieve what they're aiming at, and that's Premier League football.

It's a basic crypto mindset, and a sports team has a guaranteed ladder to success whereby artwork and other ideas don't have any such structures in place. Sometimes computer generated apes catch the imagination of buyers; but most artwork isn't going to make anything. Sports commodities are already proven in the NFT world, and Panini and similar companies are always looking to add sports brands to their collections, most recently Panini bought the rights to UFC NFT trading cards.

Imagine a few 'in the know' American investors buy these apparently worthless Bradford City NFT's, along with the loyal fan base, then that club actually goes on and achieves success - those NFT's values could potentially rocket, and make everybody a decent amount of money.

Considering what the NFT market is worth, it could be argued it could make up for the cost of the investments needed to make Bradford City (or any club for that matter) a successful Premier League club.

Had we been issued NFT's with our season tickets, the loyal fan base could also be rewarded in quite a significant way.
