Told you before the guy is a bit of a fruitcake - but whilst some of that was a bit comical it was good to hear him sounding upbeat.
After that there is little doubt things will be happening in January or he is just going to look stupid and untrustworthy

 

Morais was very good on commentary today

What a bizarre interview that is. He almost sounds sarcastic through most of it.

Im a little confused when so many have an issue with his interview. Damned when he is honest in his thoughts and slates his players, damned when he is honest in his thoughts and praises them.

I genuinely don’t know what is wrong in anything he says. He saw fight and more of what he is asking from his players. The result wasn’t what anyone wanted but given the circumstances, can anyone really be that disappointed?

Can anyone clarify what he said in regards Vernam at the end and reading what we all read on the website yesterday?

Also, am I reading into things that when he talks of those who aren’t up for it, is Cooke an example of this?

 

Canavan is my motm.. changed the game immeasurably. A winning draw for me.

 

I applauded the effort of 10 men in getting back into the game. And then I remembered it was against an injury plagued team promoted from the national league.

 

Agreed Olly, he says a few things you have to take with a pinch of salt but I want to hear him upbeat, knowing what he has to do in January and giving the players a boost when they have battled hard when up against it.
It does make me wonder if there are going to be some interesting names who might not be part of our future.
Scout I know said he thought up to 3 clubs were looking at Watt today, and he thought Sutton and Angol were under observation - just spoke with him and one was very impressed with Watt, make of that what you will! We were watching a NL striker today

Sounded like Vernam wouldn't be back for a while. When asked about the next match it was a clear "no"

He said "I can only read what's been written" and then referenced an article on the website. Maybe he means this one. His comment is odd though suggesting he doesn't agree with what was written or he wasn't aware of it before it was published. It's definitely not "one team" behind the scenes though. As in all life, its about who the person in charge likes and I'm not sure he likes/gets on with Cooke. Then again he kept Vernam and Sutton out of the team for a bit and arguably they've been two of out most impactful players.

It's hard to say but on face value he seems to value hard work but then he also seems to have his favourites who don't seem to be making strong contributions either defensively or offensively.

I get the impression that he's the kind of manager that would rather have the same team starting match after match with the same subs coming on and if your outside that group you won't get much of a look in.

 

I agree that second half performance deserved acknowledging, we need to keep that work rate up for 90 minutes.
