Great. Pleased for him as a player too. Hope he progresses. But in truth, apart from the odd little flatter to deceive cameo, he did bugger all for us.

 

Scored Stockport’s fifth just then. A bobbly finish. Chuffed for them, slaying Bolton. Used to like going to Stockport. Ooooh Adebola!

 

Yet another piece of fantastic business by Bradford City. Time and time again we let go of quality players. What a fantastic night for Stockport County, if only we had their fight.

What a shame we never gave Crankshaw a chance before shipping him out at cost, Energy all over the pitch and a great goal against a first division club, 4 goals in 5 matches and MOM awards to boot, Someone needs to give their head a shake letting him go.

 

Something must have gone on for him to have left the club, maybe after the radio Leeds interview he's kicked off.

Its typical of us to release / sell a player and have them go on to make us look like mugs, but as well as he's done we have to remember it's a league below. He was still raw and Adams has already shown he values experience over youth (except when it comes to Evans). Maybe if he'd have given Ollie a chance, we might have had a couple more goals but we'll never know.

Let's see what comes in during the window to determine whether the risk was one worth taking.

 

They may currently be a league below City. But looking at that crowd last night and knowing that they've got both money and a locally based and interested owner behind them. It won't be very long before City are a league or two below them. Crankshaw definitely signed for an ambitious club with forward momentum. Everything that City are not, sadly.

 

Good luck to them. We used to have some interesting get togethers with Stockport in the late 70’s and 80’s..

Yes I remember going to Edgely Park by special train for an evening game under Roy McFarland, we were losing 2 nil but went on to win 3:2.

 

I seem to recall being there that night, though not on the train. Spent most of the time at 2.0 down counting aeroplanes queuing up to land at Ringway.

 

Strange game that Uyllses. Even at 2 nil down I thought we would win. If memory serves me right I seem to remember the first 20 mins Jacko was struggling to get near Tommy Sword, he was too strong for him.
Then suddenly when Tommy Sword had his foot on the ball, right in front of us, Roy McFarland went straight through him and dumped him on the floor.

 

Roy was a hard two hat on the sly

 

And a bloody good manager to say it was his first managerial appointment.

 

I'm a bit too young to have witnessed the Edgeley Park shenanigans in the 70's. But friends who are a few years older than me have told me the tales about frequently taking their end and generally taking the pi$$ over there.
