I think the big question is, if the game is declared void, do those who travelled to a void game then have their loyalty points removed?

It's only right that they are, a void game didn't really happen.

The red card will still count though.

Could be wrong but i think one occured during a natural break In play, between full time and extra time starting. The don't count , at least any made during half time don't anyway. The rule itself is in place to stop five stoppages for five separate subs in the last few minutes say

Sorry I was thinking you was on about the actual number of stoppages you can make for sub. It's not overly clear on the reports but from what I can make out they made two changes at once and another during a break which would be four separate stoppages which would be allowed.

I don't know, it's all a load a bollocks anyway, should be a maximum of three subs like it used to be and is for league games. It will be like rugby soon with roll on roll off upto ten interchanges

Not sure if this has already been posted :
Taken from the official Twitter Account of Exeter City prior to the game, so I would suggest someone at the club knew about the number of subs that were allowed.

Fine, even if JUST a million I’d rather us have the chance to spend it in January than a promotion rival

If this report (https://www.devonlive.com/sport/football/football-news/exeter-city-say-lack-clarity-6222372) is anything to go by then it seems Exeter are making their case based on two main points:
    1. A lack of clarity about the rules; and
    2. That they were incorrectly advised by one or more officials that they could make a 6th substitution.
I'm not sure that point 1 is a valid claim, as the rules for this season seem very clear on the FA's website.

As for point 2, well the officials may be able to clear that up but, if they were told they could make a 6th substitution, then why did, according to Exeter, the officials advise us we couldn't. It doesn't add up.

The manager openly talked about being allowed to make 5 subs in his post match interview. Now we hear they were told they were allowed to make 6 by the officials, so why was the manager referring to 5 subs on a number of occasions?

The FA will close ranks and back the officials, they always do.

No it doesnt factor in the latter things you cite, granted. Its just one variable to consider.

if we consider those factors in our situation though they are only going to make us stronger.

we missed Canavan badly, we missed Angol and we’re missing Cook. Those lads returning doesn’t make us weaker. New options arriving might be ineffectual at worst but they are likely to eke improvement if our scouts can be trusted.

unless we lose keys players (unlikely) i cant see how the window makes us weaker.

everything points to us picking up in the next part of the season. 11/8 to finish top seven is a nice price indeed.

And if it was the case that only 1 sub could be made in ET then why were Wigan able to make 3 subs in ET.
Had we be able to make a 6th sub I would say let the result stand. But as we were not allowed I’d say the game or at least the ET period needs to be replayed which would be a farce.
My verdict is that Exeter will go through but we’ll receive some back handed financial incentive from the FA to keep quiet and not complain

    What are you on about?

You can make as many subs as you want in extra time as long as you have the subs left. You just get 1 extra break in play to make the change in addition to the period changes (half time, full time, half time extra time)

If we take everything in the article as true then the result shouldn't stand. Either they shouldn't have been allowed their sixth or we should have been as well. Not sure how the officials can have told each team a different thing

Why weren’t we able to make the 6th sub then?
That would suggest the officials knew and enforced the rules.

Don’t be an idiot! Of course we’d take the replay all day long.

What's that got to do with you going on about Wigan making 3 subs in extra time. If they have 3 subs left they can make 3 subs, no rule exists where you lose subs if you move into extra time.
