Think you need to start understanding football finances and stop making boring excuses.

    So ignore ‘Sustainability’?
Your friends in the Premiership, didn’t fare well, as “Pre-tax losses soared to just less than £1bn in the 2019-20 season, according to the professional services firm Deloitte, almost five times higher than the previous campaign”.
At some point one of these clubs will collapse, and if that happens, others also go under.

Go on tell us the list of all the FL and PL clubs making a profit.

Turnover is vanity-profit is sanity-sure you have heard that before.

So enlighten us of all the profit making clubs that you know of who are currently "sustainable"

    How can anything about profit?

Football is a loss making business.

However, a club that thinks about finances will fail. Bradford City as a club is a failure.

Sparks and Rhodes before him us sustainable as an excuse not to spend. It’s bollocks.

So you advocate spend, spend, spend without a care in the world?

One of the strangest comments you’ve made in a long list of strange comments. I take it you buy your sponges from John Lewis and throw them away after one wash….

Bollocks is spending more than you earn and going under. No where below the championship is there a club that season after season overspend and survive. You know diddly squat about the long term survival of a lower league club

I advocate if you can’t afford to spend then f@ck off.

It’s a football club. If you want to run it like a real business it won’t work.
BRADFORD CITY IS A FAILURE! DIV 2, NO ASSETS! Clearly the plan isn’t working!

Rupp needs to go! That simple. He can afford to spend but doesn’t want too. Fine! F@ck then.

Can't agree with this, feels like you've gone off on a bit of a tangent and are now trying to back your stance.

There's no reason that a sustainable budget can't bring us success in League One, let alone League Two.

Parkinson knew: you don't need to spend money at this level to go up, and that rings true today.

Some of your worst posts ever in this thread Fordy.

You are not making any sense whatsoever, all this from a successful businessman!

If we go down your route we would be in administration within 2 years.

There have been plenty of clubs at this level who have had success without spending beyond their means.

Sorry mate, but you are spouting absolute bo**ocks

    No bollocks.

Football is a loss making business. High wages and lack of profit because you have to spend, spend, spend.

Income really comes in every two weeks.

Those that own football clubs know this and to be successful in football you have to spend above your means as a club. The owner has to dig deep. Rupp doesn’t want to dig deep. He isn’t interested in the club or the city. Football is a community thing and it’s about improving where it’s based.

We own nothing and due to that can’t maximise any real commercial income.

We have stood still because of this bollocks sustainability thing and have allowed other clubs like Luton to sail passed us. We are now scared of conference clubs like Stockport.

The club is a failure. We sit in div 2, mid table with no assets. Come up. Admit it! We deserve better.

    Football isn’t about making profit.

Football is like no other business. You are smarter than this. It’s a loss maker.

Some of our most successful times in the last decade or so, were run whilst under a regime that generated its own income and within an agreed overdraft or deficit if you will. It certainly wasn't the spend, spend, spend you call for. Its proven that money doesn't guarantee success, so when the football fails and the crowds leave then what? I'll tell you, admin, bankruptcy, extinction, FC Bradford City and then ground share with Park Avenue. The gap between championship and league one is ever growing and I can't see anyone let alone Rupp wanting to pump millions away to get there and millions more to stay there.

If the only people we could attract last time were the 2 conmen from Germany, who's going to want to come in now when the price is actually higher than before, for a product less appealing than before?

Spend spend spend = administration bankruptcy liquidation. It's flawed. Show me one club under the championship that have made this work. Just one.

because we own no assets! That is why is not affective. Training at a bloody school.

One of the highest rents in football on the ground because we don’t own it. Wasting money every week.

Rupp has money but he doesn’t want to spend it. That’s up to him but he should sell up or find someone that wants to really help move this club forward. He’s taking the p out of us all. Laughing in Germany. No interest in driving us forward. Just sell!

what relevance do assets have apart the ability to create debt using them as collateral ? If we owned the ground it would require a mortgage. Commercial mortgages are around 6% so would cost vastly more than our rent. Do you even know what rent we pay for use of the top quality facilities at woodhouse grove ? Less than the mortgage on our own training ground I would wager.

do you own the land your car wash is on ? Do you spend more than your business' income ? The future of football below the premier league is self sustainability. Ultimately all booms lead to bust and consistently spending more than you have will result in two things, the owner pulling the plug or administration.

does your one track mind not compute that having been bust four times already, a fifth time would lead to more than the standard 12 point penalty

    Sell to who @Fordy117@Fordy117 ?

I agree you need someone with a will to wanting to see this football club in the upper echelons of the leagues, but the reality is we don't appear to have that person around the corner. How can we trust Rupp to sell to a bona-fide guardian of the club when he was tricked by Rahic. If you're right and he's no interest in us, why would he care who he sells to? We could be in an even worse situation than we were before.

Arrant nonsense. The bulk of the income comes in Season Ticket sales, which is usually before the deadline. Other income streams are commercial contracts, through long term sponsorship and and partnerships. The franchises are another point.
Utter tosh to make that comment. Probably why there are no multi millionaire car wash owners!
