    Exactly.

As I posted last Tuesday, while watching the Hartlepool game, they have scored nearly forty goals between them in the past two seasons. That is decent and it seemed almost self-defeating to ignore them and continue with Cook taking all the responsibility for goal-scoring.

Glad that Derek Adams has given them a chance, changed things a bit and will now give the opposition a bit more to think about.

I know a lot of people like Paudie but he's not half the player without a strong, senior partner alongside him. I think we have enough evidence to come to this conclusion after 3 years!!

Those guys are saying 'if you park the bus you aren't allowed to attack', actually you are allowed to attack but often in limited numbers and with very direct play which is exactly what we did today

We parked the bus frustrated Swindon and hit them with very direct play

Point is you can park the bus and still attack there is no such thing as a tactic where you aren't allowed to attack that only happens if you're nowhere near as good as the opposition

You joined the debate, when you wanted cast iron proof that Gilliead did something good during the first half of the Bristol Rovers match.

This is because when you also wrote "Gilliead has been consistently poor" you put yourself in a position that there is no way back, without conceding that you're wrong.

i.e. when he scored his tap in goal that's proof that he's not "consistently poor"

Or when today he did his flick on for Lavery's goal that is not evidence of "consistently poor"

You then suggest I've not explained how he is compromised in playing his natural game, when I've explained it in about four different ways - all in detail

    i.e.

"Adams has brought Gilliead in as a RM player who's part role is to recycle the attacking play - not necessarily be a 100% creator. Adams and some other managers would argue, that you can't just have two wingers in the top third of the pitch all the time - so someone has to make a sacrifice. Particularly as we have Cooke as an attacking midfielder as well"

It's quite easy to see why we might not have seen the best of Gilliead, particularly as we've hardly had our first choice central midfield on a consistent basis. Unless you think Songo's playing there about 4 times is "consistent".

You might not agree and I couldn't care less, but don't say, I've made "unsubstantiated" statements. This illustrates why it's pointless defending Gilliead to you - because you'll always ignore what's written as deflection tactic

Finally. Let me know where I used the word "hate" to describe your attitude to him. That's what you call an "unsubstantiated" comment.

But you call me a WUM. It detracts from your rather unintelligent 'black and white' comments about "inconsistently poor" Gilliead is.

I repeat, because otherwise you'll forget. He has been inconsistent. So has everyone in the team, apart from Canavan and Songo's.

I'm simply fed up of Bantams, frustrated with the past few years - throwing players under the bus when barely a quarter of the season gone, without thinking through that there might be a reason for it, their inconsistency.

Well the game I watched showed balls being fed through midfield which created 2 good chances for Cook. We didn’t lump the ball long all afternoon and certainly weren’t scrapping for our lives at the back. This wasn’t the definition of parking a bus

Well all right however the original point I was trying to make us that won't work at home

Somebody said 'play like that and dominate at home' which to be is a complete contradiction you can't play like that and dominate it's classic away day formation and tactics against a side higher in the division

    Spot on again, Park

Morecambe also had a terrible run - I think it was something like 2 wins in 14, around this time last season

Give the lad some credit, he actually spots the keepers position and deliberately goes for the lobbed shot. He's been getting a lot of stick when doing little wrong in the little time he's been afforded. Hope he bangs a few more in.

I think if Adams thought Lavery or Robinson were fit enough before, he's had played them.

He has a loyalty to the players, which is vital for long term success. We beat Rochdale, had a 'roll up your sleeves' to on form Newport and frankly should have buried Bristol Rovers. I don't see how he could drop anyone after that - hence the Hartlepool team.

For me, he's a very good man manager (his getting Sutton to be at the top of his game is a great example of that) and I can see why he's gained promotion at every team he's been at.

We just have to trust his judgement.

I think that's at least three times where Robinson has come on and got a shot on goal pretty much straight away

What a goal very happy for him!

Don't know about your version but my version of parking the bus is Burnley going to the Etihad, Man City having 20 odd shots to Burnleys one corner. And Burnley pat themselves on the back for coming away with a point. At no point in that game we're we 'under the cosh'. I'll give you a good example of parking the bus where we actually won, Preston away with the late strike from Yeates, we defended all game and Pickford had to have the best keeping performance I've seen for years. Today O'Donnell had two saves to make, both regulation.

He didn't play Sutton for long enough, the fans were crying out for him becuase we had no drive from midfield. Hardly getting the best out of him.
