The trouble is the very same players played very well for 75 minutes on Saturday, with exhaustion doing for us in the end.

 

When a keeper gifts the opposition a start like last night it does tend to boost the opposition confidence and knock ours, poor keeping.
When were failing to put our chances away as we have done recently you cant give teams a goal start. Apart from that a good post.

 

Makes you question whether Adams solution to the team playing poorly is to increase the amount of training sessions in between games. Good idea in theory but I think some of the players are burnt out. Which looks poor in the eyes of the management but even worse for our so called professional players who can’t seem to hack it

 

More like we should make changes, because we have to, but it's unlikely to make us any better.

 

By all accounts, he'd struggle to fit any more training sessions in.

 

We probably have 75% of a team able to challenge at the top end of table. The remainder continue to be picked. Maybe Adams is hoping they’ll somehow click, but they’re not improving only regressing. They need a rest as the levels are dropping. More training sessions only reduces the recovery time needed to perform at their best.

You are probably right, it was evident minutes after we signed him that Adams was not a happy bunny with this one with his 'well he is no Lee Angol' quote.

I assume that he has now told Sparks that it is Adams way, including all signings, or he is out of here.

I'm well aware of the quote's originator. I purposefully substituted delusion for madness, because mental health is becoming increasingly important and throwing 'mad' around as a slight is a pretty crass thing to do in today's climate IMO.

 

For all the PC in this world you can't alter or airbrush history. If Einstein said it's the definition of madness then no amount of PCness or wokism should change what a genius said.

Since when did relaying a world acknowledged and accepted quote (in it's correct manner) become crass. The world has gone bananas, and altering a 100 year old quote to fit current thinking because it refers to madness is a step too far.

In Einstein's interpretation he used the word madness to relate stupidity not mental health issues.

I gave ROD the benefit of the doubt with parrying and not holding onto the ball when he made that save last night because with all the rain prior to kick-off the ball and surface would have been greasy. However having thought about it since, he does that a lot, not holding onto the ball but parrying or punching the ball without getting any distance on it.
When I watch him doing that plus not commanding HIS six yard area, the keepers we have in the past have looked very good in comparison.
Having said that he is only one of the weaknesses in the squad.
A lot of opposition teams seem to have a keeper and back four (or three) that look more reliable than ours.

 

Don't get me going about wokeism Uyllses and how things are perceived these days.
Last night our lads "took the knee" (before they took the piss). I applaud them for doing that but Hartlepool chose not to. Now some people will criticise them for that but it doesn't mean that they not against racism, they will have their reasons.

Just watching Huddersfield v Birmingham, both teams totally ignored the knee bollocks and got straight on with the game ..
