Agree with this as how could Robinson or Lavery weaken the front line that was already running on empty. Also DA does appear to have his favourites and everyone else can go to shit.

 

Great post, I'm looking to take my lad to a CL game at City, as you say not to change allegiance but to show him how the top level differs. At league 2 level you have players who can make the pass but others waste it and then you have players who have ability but no vision. Can be painful watching.

 

Yes I agree he’s very old school, very much like Parkinson. He alienated many a player you only have to watch the Steven Davies interview to see that but had other players play for him at multiple clubs and would run through walls for him.

 

It needed fresh legs to press up on very limited league 2 defenders, I'd expect both Lavery and Robinson to be able to follow that instruction. Instead we go with tactics that would have seen us lose if the game had carried on another 5 or 10 minutes.

 

There does need to be some perspective on here as well. You only have to look at Brentford v Chelsea last night, last 20 minutes Brentford should have won absolutely dominated a supposedly far superior Chelsea team. So it happens to the best never mind shit teams like us. We can all say we should have done this or that, but our biggest crime was not having a 2 or more goal cushion when their time on top came. The two Cook(e)’s had a two on one situation to make it 3-1 and Andy totally bottled it not to mention the lack of quality first half in the final third, if we are going to have any chance of going up the players themselves have to do much better, not just rely on the manager bringing another defender or crap striker on.

Your original comment doesn't factor that Bradford City players can't handle the pressure. Drawing away brings pressure on the next game which we can't handle most of the time.

Robinson has already shown he can't be trusted to come on and do a job for the team (Salford away). I'm not making excuses for Adams because his tactics in the last 20 were poor, but I can't blame him for not having belief or confidence in players like Robinson and Lavery. Those, along with the rest of the fringe players, haven't exactly shown anything to warrant that trust.

 

And there is the really poor predicament we are in, at least for another 2 and a half months!

I went to Man City v Sevilla about 5/6 years ago. The football on display was like a different sport. That said the stadium and atmosphere are crap imo, if you can take him to a game at Anfield in the CL it’s the true package, I still like football with atmosphere as well as good football and them scousers know how to make noise. YNWA before kick off makes the hairs on your neck stand up. Probably more expensive and further away but worth it IMO compared with Man City who feel like nothing more than a tourist club.

 

Lavery and Robinson need to be in their agents’ ears asking them for a move in January, it will suit players and club.

Managers get it wrong at this level nature of the beast, look at what everyone was like with Mansfield on here pre season saying how good Clough is and there squad arguably looks better than ours. I don’t know any manager at this level that changes games week in week out with their subs tbh. Might happen now and again but it’s not regular although it seems to happen to us a fair bit lol.

 

The on loan winger he brought on tore us apart with cross after cross, only a matter of time before they won one, We should have defended better against him and got the full points
