Should never have got to that , but when your last man is RoD , I’m frustrated by the flap that followed. If only.

 

Get Canavan back to organise the defence.

 

Was a cracking header. Pitman. This is what you get when you bring in experienced players with a bit of quality.

 

They were out on their feet, why didn't Adams use the bench to freshen it up? Poor management in my opinion. They were by far the worst team I've seen in a long time.

Great block from Paudie prevented an equaliser even before the Pitman header. But Christ on a bike. We missed some serious chances again there.

 

True. Cooke could hardly run at the end. I'd have brought on Robinson for Cook, to give them something to worry about (fresh legs wise) and stop them pushing forward.

 

Ultimately we got what we deserved on the back of that second half. We conceded possession to them and seemed happy for them to have it.
That said, I believe Adams should have subbed Gillead, he'd run his course. He didn't play badly but fresh legs up front may have helped the ball stick .

 

Did we though? I can't think of many howlers, or near misses. It was more the usual case of us dithering about on the edge of the box. Its a shame, because I thought we started brightly, and its not often we come back from conceding a goal to score almost straight away.

 

That mental strength Adams has been on about was nowhere to be seen in the last 10-15 minutes. Far too many of them switched off and thought they'd done enough.

Back to that same problem of lack of leadership in the middle of the pitch again.

While they had experience and pushed them on ours fizzled out, ran out of steam and ended with a whimper.

Same as last few years.

I think the above posts have covered it.

We weren't fit enough and Bristol Rovers were too strong for us in the last quarter.

We completely lost our shape and composure. Whacking aimless balls out of defence with over ten minutes left on the clock.

Very frustrating as we played some good football, but we weren't good enough across the whole game.

 

It’s all about the xG. Nothing else matters

 

1st half dominant. Brizzle looked a bottom half side. Very poor. We miss too many chances. 2nd half. Asleep at the start to allow a free header equaliser. Good response. Back on the front foot. Dominant again. Worth our lead.
theb 65 mins onwards looked knackered could not win any ball up front or in midfield. Desperate for fresh legs. Scales wasn’t enough to stem the tide. Needed more energy for the last 20 mins. Sadly that equaliser was coming. Adams that’s on you. .

 

In this league its all about the ball in the net and points on the board

We see that game out if we have 3 decent options to bring off the bench.

 

They looked knackered because they were pressing high all first half. They were going to be tired by the end of the second half.

We needed some subs on and it annoys me because he can't say he's not playing Robinson or Lavery or whoever because he wants to save them for Tuesday with 2 quick games because we all know it will be the same team again on Tuesday!!

It's actually a self inflicted problem with Adams. Put on some subs and let then run around and try and keep the ball up the pitch rather than surrendering possession and hoping to hang on. He's stupidly stubborn and it's cost today.
