I don't see the reality of the current situation as excuses - and I certainly don't want mediocrity from us!

 

Operating profit is shown as a positive amount (no brackets).

Operating loss is shown in brackets. The "Operating loss" is merely the description. Of course, the figure in brackets is the deficiency.

 

Covid isn't a barrier to us achieving promotion. In fact, I'd argue that we're far better placed to weather the impacts that just about every other club in this league.

An Operating Loss is a negative amount. An Operating Profit is a positive value. If the figure is shown in brackets, it's correctly described as an Operating Loss.

 

I disagree on one point and that is the last one. The line is listed as operating loss, so a negative amount of operating loss is a profit. It should either be labeled operating profit, and then the negative would mean it is a loss or labeled as operating profit/loss

 

Rich owner. Bigger fan base for ifollow revenues during lock down. More scope for sponsorship and commercial income.

For Christ's sake, the "Operating Loss" narrative is a heading, not part of an arithmetical calculation of the figure in brackets!!

 

For Christ sake by definition a negative, as shown by brackets, operating loss is a profit. It is so crystal clear they even use the thing of putting both (loss)/profit on one of the lines further down

 

Isn't the issue of the budget pretty simple. Rupp knows nothing about football or the football business. In the past he was told that if he put money in we would be promoted. He did and we weren't. Now he's been told we've got a manager who can get us promoted on a shoestring. So he's not putting any more money in. Have I missed something?

 

Follow the figures through. Its clearly a loss irrespective of if its in brackets, red, highlighted or has a negative in front of it £6million income will never generate an £8million profit
