The farming round these parts is labour intensive Hooch, primarily because of pigs. They grow on pigs all year round . They rotate ( huge) fields as follows. Year 1 Cereals, Year 2 Pigs, Year 3 Sugar Beet. and so on in rotation. If you can imagine these farms have say 5 -10 huge fields they need lots of staff to look after the pigs of which there are thousands! We watch em and I bet it’s damn hard work
You are right they work damned hard. Alas they are struggling big style for staff now.

Same where I am Kevin. Got the tattie holidays coming up. They were 2 weeks here traditionally so the kids could help with the harvest. They've not had to do that for generations but they might be rolling their sleeves up in October for a bit of hard graft. It'll do them good.

I'm not a climate change denier as Ulysses S Grant said just pointing those who can afford to turn left and can afford thousands for a flight need to look in the mirror.
It must be very nice especially if your not paying unfortunately if were going to get serious about climate change then we shouldn't be flying aircraft 3rd full, but we all know that isn't going to happen.

If that’s the Sainsbury’s by the lights, they were a pain in the arse, queuing through the lights blocking half the road took over 40mins to from roundabout at B&Q to the lights then had to go in right hand lane to get past em, van in front of me just stopped in the junction an pushed into the queue stopping all traffic all morans

Behave. I didnt say that you touchy so and so. What I said is that being owned by a crook and turning a blind eye to it is akin to being a climate chane denier. Stop being so touchy.

Never seen so many big fields as the ones we passed by on the Wolds Way walk between Hessle & Filey. Massive amounts of sprouts, potatoes, rape seed etc being grown. And a few pigs as you get closer to Scarbados.

To be fair, when I went the queue was round the corner at the lights and not through them. Most had cottoned on to that and were going down the side road (Gresley Road ??) and joining the queue there.

Ooo isn't that a bit like being a climate change denier and being happy to have warmer summers before you peg it ?

Not sure I'm being touchy, the reference is
there to my original comment, I'm getting on now so I'd just like a little bit of sucsess before I go, not too much to ask is it.

You are always touchy. You are as touchy as a touchy little touchy person. Founder member of the touchy touch club. Or in old money, feisty. Which makes two of us ! Better to be touchy than be a WUM or WOKE though.

You should see the size of the harvesting machines. The lad is an agricultural engineer who repairs and maintains them for a rather large brewing dynasty. Massive! It’s the pigs…..who need people.
Oddly me and the wife we looking at a field outside the village yesterday. Just had the potatoes lifted. There were tons still lying around on the topsoil. Amazing, and all perfectly good!

I think watching dross on the pitch is going to have a bigger effect on people travelling to away matches than a "fuel crisis".

He is, but his farm program is funny as flick, mainly due his sidekick Caleb and Gerald.
