1903 Club Shirt

Yes and they said cos I’m abroad it may take a bit longer. That was a month ago. I mailed them back last week informing them it’s not arrived, and haven’t had a response.
Will email Sparks tomorrow morning . It’s all a bit of a shambles imo. Was a great initiative, but seems to have been managed really poorly. The strange thing about the “tube”, is that I paid the standard £10 postage fee. I emailed the club to say I’m over here in Estonia, asking what additional postage I should pay. They responded they’ll be in touch for extra payment once they’re ready to send out international orders. Didn’t hear anything for a month. Went i wrote them back, they told me it’s been posted out. All very fragmented. If I’d had known it was going to be such a hassle, despite being highlighted on the promotion “a way for international fans to support their club”, I wouldn’t have signed up. Glutton for punishment as I am, I’m expecting the same situation with the shirt.

 

I finally received a response from my email from "BCAFC RECEPTION". I wrote that I want to cancel my membership, as I haven't received what was promised, and I'm not happy with the lack of communication:

"I have just had correspondence that we have sent out 1903 packs in batches, the last batch of international packs were posted out on the 15th of September. Due to some confusion with the post office sending us back international packs, your pack was posted out on the 15th of September and not during August. I can only apologise for the misinformation"

I've also been told that if I cancel my membership, then that means they'll refund my £10 deposit for the 4th shirt, as this is only allowed to be purchased by members. I'm not sure what they mean by "confusion with the post office sending us back international packs". No idea why they didn't communicate this directly to all international members, rather than me spending a month emailing them. I'm going to give it another week or so, but I'm not holding out much hope. When was this scheme launched - March/April I think? Half a year to send out stuff people have signed up and paid is terrible service.

Apparently, all the income they received from membership sign ups, was going towards transfers. No wonder we got Robinson!

I'm really not holding up much hope for the 4th shirt ever materialising. And if it does, maybe we'll get it in time for next season.

Footnote: they still haven't contacted me for additional overseas postage payment like they said they would. TBH, makes me think they still haven't posted it.

 

Did they say you would get a refund for your membership? If so I’d take the refunds and get out

Maybe that is why the post office returned them? Not enough stamps.

as for the fourth shirt maybe the new plan is for it to be next seasons 3rd kit

 

Having worked in the clothing industry for may years previously I think we're looking at a 3 month lead time (maybe more with the shipping issues going on) for this. Assuming they didn't confirm the order until start of Sept then we might get it in Dec but this is just an educated guess. Can't see City paying for air freight to get it in sooner!

 

Can't use it for cup games then like the last one given that we will likely be knocked out in november

 

Amazingly, today I had a letter from the tax board telling me there’s a package for me, and I have to fill in the customs declaration form online.

I filled it in as a gift of a book, from a personal friend of mine “Brad Ford”.

Let’s see if that works

 

FYI-"confusion with the post office sending us back international packs" actually means that they shipped the items without the correct customs declaration and the items were refused onward travel until the correct documentation was supplied.

 

If I’d paid for the 1903 club I’d be asking for my money back, cheeky feckers have proper wasted it.

Yet they geared this up for international postage, by advertising it as a “great way for overseas fans to support the club”. You’d think they’d have worked out how to do that before making such a statement.

 

Not sure if this is the norm but sent a parcel to Germany and took 2 minutes to fill out a customs declaration and stick it on the outside of the parcel next to the Address label, Collected Sat morning by Royal Mail and delivered Wednesday by GLS ( a Royal Mail International parcel service.) to Cologne

 

It depends on the value of the items as to what type of declaration you need to make. Anything over £900 needs a full customs declaration done online usually by a freight forwarder

 

I’m guessing that isn’t the case with the 1903 club tat

Sparks told someone on twitter yesterday, the 4th kit was due for Christmas

 

Makes sense. Although in order to buy one for an Xmas pressie, you'd have had to sign up in someones elses name. Also means it turns out to be quite an expensive gift with 43 quid or whatever it was for the membership, plus 40 odd quid for the shirt. Made me laugh, the enclosed paper saying that the limited edition shirt is only available to members of the 1903 club...and that by being a member, you get a discount off the shirt. Well, erm, how can we get a discount for being members, if the only people who can buy the shirts are members?

 

My guess is that not enough have committed to it to make it a worthwhile venture. Given the timing of the sale I expect it to go on general sale

 

I hope they aim better than our forwards.

 

Just seen this on the Supporters Board Facebook page

We have received several queries about when we can expect to see the "4th Shirt" that a lot of supporters have ordered. Due to the volume of queries, rather than wait until the next supporters Board meeting we have been in touch with the club and have received the following response:
"Unfortunately there has been a manufacturing delay which resulted in the shirt not reaching us during December. We have been informed by Just Sport (AVEC) that the stock is due to hit us at the end of January / beginning of February.
The EFL and FA have approved the use of the shirt and we’ll be wearing it a home game prior to the end of the season.
The club is currently working on the back-end logistics so when this stock hits we can make it available to all those that have pre-ordered a shirt straight away."
