    Hi all,
The Barrow match was nothing short of frustrating.

In fact the past month or so has been moments of head in hands and arms thrown in the air in dismay.
    But.........
Remember when managers were given time to gel with his team and surroundings?
Paul Jewell had a terrible time in his first season as City manager and we all know how his tenure turned out since he was given the time necessary to make a successful push to promotion.

Can we extend the same curiosity with Derek Adams. This club of ours needs stability. Promotion is not a must this season, financially. So would it be the end of the world if this season was a building year?

We have our club, we can attend games and touch wood we have a sound financial foundation in which City can build upon.

It could be a lot worse, look at Bury, Oldham, Derby, Forest..... the unfortunate list continues.

Keep the singing, passion and attendance going everyone.

    C'mon City!!!!!!!!!!!

Derek Adams has achieved promotion at every club he's been at that alone gives him time

There is nothing to suggest Adams is a bad manager and won't help this club progress if given time

Minimum of 18 months for me next January if we're in the poop then he will have to go I'm afraid but it is high time we gave a manager a bit of time so long as the manager is a good one

Adams has shown he is capable

I too believe for the sake of stability at the club he should be given time
Whilst extolling the virtues of Mr Adams please remember he was sacked from 2 of the 3 clubs he got promoted
Sincerely hope he can turn round this mini slump

Welcome to the forum for a new poster you talk so much sense, no knee jerk reactions, don't be brow beaten down by some on here.
I will be disappointed if Adams doesn't get up first time after all the preseason hype.

Its criminal the way this club has a habit of crumbling, just when you think it might finally have turned a corner. The optimism kills ya!

Of course no manager is unsackable they are only as good/bad as their last result/performance
Football is a results based business
At the moment ours aren't good

Today's T&A article clearly suggests Adams needs time to completely rebuild.

He is very unhappy with a lot of the players, especially the ones that featured on Tuesday.

The problem he now has, how to manage these players who were left in no doubt their futures here are very much in doubt.

As the number of players in the treatment room increase, Adams is going to need these fringe players

This year could have been a building year and I'm sure some, perhaps not all, would have accepted that. However when season tickets are raised 33% and the CEO tells us anything less than promotion is a failure then fans are entitled to show their displeasure at the same shit show as the previous 4 years getting rolled out

Frustration seems to be spilling over in the club itself, confidence must have also taken a battering looks like Adams is feeling the heat with these injuries also, the next few games will be telling.

It’s a nice thought, but no. 95% of supporters at Bradford City have quite simply had enough. We have had enough of waiting, we have seen managers come and go, players come and go and endured the frustrations. Adam’s arrived at VP with the intention of promotion, there was talk of all his previous promotions, he spoke about the time he arrived at Plymouth (later than at City and still got promotion), Sparks said the aim is promotion, the recruitment was promotion focused (supposedly!), and this was our year. We cannot start saying “maybe next year” after playing 8 league games. The focus is now Crawley Town, we need 3 points!

Surely he would have realised a "root and branch" rebuild was required before he took the job according to Mr Sparks he was involved before he was officially appointed even to the point of involvement in incoming/outgoing players it can't be a shock to him, not a great way to boost confidence in fringe players by publicly showing his displeasure towards them, the way he seems to train them the treatment table can only get busier and these maligned fringe players will have to step up to the 1st team
Can't see Mr Rupp releasing sufficient funds in January to boost any sort of promotion push he has to work with what he has got
He has to get promotion this season as fans who have paid more for season tickets won't be fooled by the impressive marketing campaign twice
Maybe he is now seeing guiding Morecambe to survival in L1 a more rewarding proposition

Your position contrasts markedly with that of the club's CEO. Ryan Sparks has previously said that promotion from the bottom division of the EFL is the expectation for this season. He certainly hasn't suggested that the club is simply building for next season. This season is the one which has been sold to the club's fans as the one when we get promoted from this division. I suspect many fans believed that when digging deep into their pocket for their season tickets.

If the club's position on this has changed, I'd welcome confirmation from the club that this is the case. I'd also like to understand why it has changed so soon tnto the current season. Until that happens, Sparks' responsibility is to ensure that Adams has the resources to deliver what was sold to the fans prior to the season starting.

This isn't a season for building; it's a season for delivering.

The profile of our signings do not point to us using this as a "building year" - if recruitment had largely been up and coming youngsters, and we were also playing our own younger players then you could argue there was a longer term strategy in place.

Instead we've gone for experienced players who you would expect to come in and do the required job, it seems to me that there has been a realisation that the standard of the players brought in might not be what it needs to be, and they have made Turnbull the scapegoat.

Exactly! I’ve asked in a previous post, what went on in the interview.
