You called me out pre season, when I said I was impressed with the Gilliead signing. Fair play.

It was only when I delved into his stats, that I realised the error of my ways.

Sometimes you attend a game and think to yourself at the final whistle.
Well that was a waste of time.
Today was one of those days.
Dreadful performance.

 

I think Songo'o has been pretty poor in the two games he's played so far so can understand that. Cannot understand the Sutton decision though, he's no world beater but he's better than Evans in pretty much every department.

 

What the fans can see, I'm sure the players are feeling too. We can say they are professional, getting paid, blah blah, but if the manager is playing a system that isn't working then the players are not going to deliver and will be going onto the pitch with doubt in their minds.

Not going to criticise individuals. Suffice to say that, apart from Vernam, the rest are bog standard Fourth Division players.

I get more disappointed in Adams by the week. One plan, and when that doesn't work, bring on sub strikers with five minutes left. He failed when Plymouth got promoted and walked away from Morecambe when the challenge of League One was presented. League Two appears to be his level. His post match interviews are now like a stuck record. Happy, apart from missing chances and bring the players in for training on Sunday. Yep, happy at a home draw with a patched up Barrow side.

No doubt, next week we'll have another photo of Longo, on the pitch, doing some deal with another little local firm. Football has now become something of a sideshow at Valley Parade.

The resigning of Gilliead made no sense at all. He was shite the 1st team and even more so this time around.

 

My first trip down to Valley Parade this season. What a disappointment. A feeble midfield, no cohesion between them and Cook. A short sighted goalkeeper who fails to communicate with his defenders apart from waving them upfield. A centre forward who flicks on headers to opposing defenders and a manager who sets his team up to start the match as if they are away to a team from a higher decision.
I have not heard the post match interviews but I don't want to hear him mention last season at Morecambe. Those comments are irrelevant.
I am afraid unless his attitude changes it will be another season of mid table mediocrity.

 

Sorry but this team/ squad is no where near good enough. 8 games in is enough time to show how good or bad a team is IMO

He should have changed it at half time but chose to wait far too long. We don't have runners off the ball, we have no movement at all bar Vernam and Cook is completely isolated playing in this formation.

Mr Adams got Plymouth promoted fair enough but failed to take them any further
He got Morecambe promoted last year in the weakest league imaginable when nearly every club was happy just to finish the season (we missed a great chance and should have gone all guns blazing for promotion) then walked away, will he do the same with us in the unlikely event we get promoted
Reminds me a bit of Simon Grayson in his interviews, but if he turns us round and gets us promotion mission achieved

Regarding @Keefly Bantam 's point on Sutton and Songo'o- saw Sutton doing warm-ups during the game but no sign of Songo'o doing sprints

 

And I told everyone that was a mistake also.

 

According to their chairman Accrington went up from this division on a £900k budget. I’d bet City have more than double that. Less to do with what you can afford and more to do with what you spend your money on. For example Kelleher and Foulds, are they seriously better than Sikora, FCD and Staunton?

 

It was his total inability to bring the ball forward that was so frustrating.On numerous occasions he had 10/15 yards to move forward into but shit his self and just passed it backwards to Watt or Evans.Obviously under instruction to give to a midfielder but when there is so much space in front of you then be a bit braver.
Their captain brought it forward to the half way line so many times and then passed to a teammate.
And the less said about his defensive header before their goal the better.

 

Why have you not mentioned this before?
