The only thing I think that has deserved criticism is 6/7 weeks to make an internal appointment.

Mishandling situations which nobody really knows exactly what has happened, other than the odd ITK spouting rubbish how can I form an honest opinion?

I've said on here social media promotes a horrible mentality.... My first post was stating that the over reaction is completely embarrassing and it is, now two ways about it.

 

Yer fair point. They're not good at it. They need to get someone in to advise them on these things but I doubt they'll spend money on it.

 

The way I read it, Colin was offered a contract which was to be accepted by a certain date. The date went by, so city have right released colin .

 

Can you genuinely blame people for not believing a club statement given how much bullshit has been spouted in them during Edins time here.

 

Ripley would be nice, especially now he has some experience behind him...but on a permanent contract, not loan. For keeper I'd want one of ours, and not only that, one we could expect to stay for years to come -- someone who would end up in the higher reaches of our all-time appearance charts.

Paul Tomlinson is an example that comes to mind of the kind of player I'd want; other examples of the type -- just from my time supporting City -- would be Ramsbottom, McManus, and Walsh -- though all were somewhat (or a lot) older than ideal when they arrived, and only had a few seasons with us. Another example would be Schwarzer, though there Middlesbrough got the benefits of a promising keeper who'd already gained some experience elsewhere.

Who knows, but GSK might end up as such a keeper. We would need a solid veteran presence for the next few seasons to allow GSK to gain experience. McLaughlin anyone?

But will the alleged pay structure allow for such a veteran?

If the club statement is untrue then the EFL will have a field day screwing the club for mishandling a players contract negotiations and Doyle agent will have a field day. Lets see if the EFL come out and make a statement eh?

 

Ripley would be a very good signing I've only seen him against us when he played for the opposition but he's always looked confident, he's been at Middlesbrough for several years and I can't see him getting back into their first team any time soon so why not go in with a cheeky offer or if not a season long loan.

 

I posted above about the EFL or PFA getting involved if the club have not gone through the correct channels.

I think the club would have made a statement anyway, if he was leaving, but it’d be briefer and not include as many details (offered same terms etc) as this statement. Think we’ve done that previously, but, saying that, when McMahon left I can’t remember much happening.

 

Like your agenda is always pro club and pro Rahic. Just two different opinions of the same subject.

 

To be fair, I can be quite sarcastic as well. But it only really works face-to-face and not on message boards.

 

Does it matter, I'm hoping for a few more quality signing rather than hearing if Colin Doyle has brought his union rep in, there is nothing we can do as fans only offer our opinions one way or the other, and just reading the poster name you usually know which way they are going to argue the point.

 

No you must not question. You must unequivocally follow the club and its masters and not utter a word of negativity.

 

Agree, I can be sarcastic, but i try not to on here don’t always succeed. Plus in my view has to have an element of humour as part of it, otherwise just comes across as nasty.
