Problem with not accepting the first deal is that you might end up with no deal and then have to move house and kids etc

 

I grew to like the guy (mainly because the other two were very poor) I have no problem with them bringing in a better keeper, I'm just not sure they will.

A really critical role to fill, absolutely Simon. We saw what happened when he was out of the side last season.
I was critical of Doyle early on last season but he made me eat my words from mid season on with solid performances and great commitment. Oh and once I'd seen the alternatives!

Not delusional at all like I said I was going from memory (my memory was wrong, which I did say), I thought Doyle was with them in the Championship, which he wasn't.

Fickle? Come on, I'm entitled to my own opinion. There's nothing fickle about it. The board have got a coach who's untried, he's a nobody, and he wasn't exactly doing that well with the under 18's either if you've seen their results. He was a rushed appointment.. 'since the weekend', and that's why it's clear the board have panicked. If this was their man, they'd have appointed him weeks ago. Simply, this wasn't the coach the board wanted, he was the last resort.

That's great that you understand where the board are coming from, but not everybody has to buy into this model. I'm on the sceptical side, as if this was fool poof then every club would be doing it. So, Why do we have to trust the board? Really why? There's plenty of chairman that have run clubs into the ground, why do you think that this one is going to guarantee us success? The majority of his decisions so far have done anything other than give me faith that this man knows what he's doing (take a peek at his history, he doesn't by the way).

Thing is, we could buy who we want, we know how much Rupp is worth, but he's not putting his hand in his pocket is he. We're no better under these two than we were under Lawn and Rhodes, we're worse off to be honest. We were on a steady ride upwards with the last two, a bit more of a cash injection we'd have been in the Championship. Instead we scrapped what we were doing and now we're languishing in league one, where the gap between this league and the next grows wider every season.

Last season was a disaster, a complete mess. I'm well into the book that I'm bringing to Rahic, plenty of us are. If we're bottom by Christmas you can keep your head in the sand can't you, it's only going one way. See you March 31st.

 

just wondering (probably not the right place for it) but it seems a lot of the McCall out people are firmly pro-Edin camp. In other words, I am detecting a sort of entrenched lack of reason here. Is it just me or are there no others who feel that the McCall firing was wrong but in general, the way we are moving, although different, is not necessarily bad?
