Summer 2021 Transfers

Not so worried about his heading ability, though improvement would be great for us. Much more interested in his wonderful first touch, speed and anticipation.

 

I can't remember Nahki Wells scoring many headed goals.

 

Bet our wonderful Riverbantam would have some stats on that.

 

We may see another forward come in and another midfield player if Adams tells Evans he can leave but I don't think he will replace a centre half he has just signed purely because he has had one poor performance or a number of supporters don't rate him.

 

Danny Rowe at Chesterfield knows where the back of the net is.

 

I actually think we'll sign another full back. Reading between the lines of his comments in the T&A it sounds like he doesn't think the young defenders are ready and he chose his starting line up to test that theory. We only have two experienced full backs, so my guess is we will sign another experienced right back or left back, in addition to a number 10.

 

Especially if someone has dropped a packet of fags there...

True but he might allow Sikora to go out on loan and bring in cover - someone ready to compete with the 3 Irish.

 

Foulds is 24. Experienced in years, not so much games but we cant be signing another left back. We have Staunton as a filler too. Right back maybe.

Folks, we should all be loving this. We have a season in front of us where we have a manager and a squad - though we could still use a couple more real talents - that excite. Bookies seldom get it wrong. City are odds on for promotion. A long hard season ahead - but with a manager who understands the challenge and the grind. If King Cole is feeling optimistic then I'm on board.

 

I said myself Hornsea a few weeks ago, we’re as likely to find a gem in someone like Angol than buy a set in stone guaranteed 20 goal a season striker. Look at some of the high scorers at this level over the years, often out of nowhere.

 

Couldn't agree more. These players do sometimes come from nowhere. When we signed Nakhi Wells, most fans were...what? Who the hell is he? I know they've only been friendlies, but Angol looks the real deal. Wonderful first touch, a great footballing brain, pace. Well, let's see.
