That's going back to the 30 days thing I mentioned in the other thread.

 

It is in the football league rules that players have to notify the club within four weeks of receiving the offer if they are accepting it or not

 

It’s laid down by the EFL rules

 

Well I am asking the question. It seems everyone is assuming he has passed his deadline. Why would his wife be so upset, and she is talking about 7 weeks?

If someone offered me a big reduction in salary, firstly I would know they really do not want me, why would I waste my time negotiating or keeping the club hanging on, this doesn’t make sense

 

If he was keen to stay, he would have signed.

We will have made an offer, maybe one he didn't feel was right so no deal was agreed.

Club moves on, wife gets pissed bacause she may need to move her family.

This is normal in the football world but seems alien to our fan base.

 

I personally think we need to be clear with players. If we don’t want them for goodness sake just bloody well tell them. Then they could go and find another club, as you say weeks have gone by, with tight arse saying no, and his agent trying to negotiate because he doesn’t want to move his family, their child has special needs and they are settled in school etc.

 

I’m sure his agent will have been sounding out other clubs as well. Not sure how negotiations breaking down can be blamed on just one side. Every reason you have given for it being the clubs fault holds just as much to Doyle. He could have said seven weeks ago he didn’t want to stay and aced the club time that they could have used looking elsewhere.

 

Well I guess we will never find out, it is like a mantra round here. No evidence, it’s not the club’s fault, it’s just rumours etc etc. I am really fed up if tbh.

 

Alternatively it is always the clubs fault like some people on here want to say to everything.

Negotiations breakdown every year between clubs and players. Sometimes both sides come back to the table and thrash out a deal. Tony Mc had left last year but ended up resigning when he couldn’t get a deal elsewhere, same might happen here.

 

They have told him they don't want him, after the 30 days in which he's been able to accept his new contract offer.

I know everyone wants to blame the club for everything right now, but come on this is what happens at all football clubs all around the world.

Maybe it's time people weren't so quick to blame the club for everything and should perhaps try and find out how these things work?
