Agreed. I'm annoyed that I allowed @Park bantam to drag me into it. He's probably having a good laugh now about it over a brandy and a fisherman's friend.

 

I was going to drop a joke about sucking a fisherman’s friend but it would lower the tone.

 

I’d a dream about Ryan Sparks that would certainly lower the tone.

 

Pretty sure the Gibb family will contribute as will Flamingo land. Tax advantages make it nonsense for FL not to contribute, but I believe the max a member can put in is £40,000 per tax year. Not sure what it is for the "employer"

This pre-season seems to be handled very professionally and a million miles away from the McCall days of seeing players pissed as a fart on a German stage. After that stunt it was no major surprise that Edin couldn't wait to sack him.

Adams already knows his starting line up and I don't think Stuart ever really knew what his best one was, and Bowyer just took the micky with the team he sent to Brighouse.

Fitness, gelling, formation, tactics. They all mean a damn sight more than "Jack all"

 

Did you see the Man Utd starting 11? It wasn't their first team by an stretch. Solksjaer would have got zilch from that game regardless of the result because only 2, maybe 3 of them will be in the starting 11 vs Leeds. If his strongest 11 complete with Maguire, Shaw, Rashford et al had lost that game 4-2 it would be a completely different reaction.

As for 'Jack all'....so you are telling me Derek Adams is simply going to guess his formation and starting 11 against Exeter? He won't have formed an opinion or taken anything away from the 7 games we will have played?

If our pre season prep was a mockery and we were losing games to Brighouse and Guiseley - I'm pretty sure the opinion of the poster your are alluding to would have a completely different opinion right now.

And I would suggest it was rank unprofessionalism from a manager who was supposed to be getting his team fit and ready for the upcoming season. How the season ended is irrelevant to that. I would suggest that far from being a little embarrassed Rahic was probably fuming to see his so called professional manager behave in such a way and possibly wondering who on earth he had hired.

It may not have damaged the season but it's behaviour I don't want to see again in pre-season. Do at the end on a post season holiday by all means.

 

I will be safe in the knowledge it simply wasnt our day and we did all we could in preparation rather than just fitness.

Come on answer the question - is Adams going to draw the formation and starting 11 out of a hat? Or is he going to base his decisions on something.

 

Correction: that pre season was the season he was sacked. You are talking about the season before.

 

Obviously other things but get the feeling McCall wasnt an authority and was one of the boys. A bit too pally....

See @Sergio Pinto III response. Anyway, letting your hair down has no place in preparation for a season, and it was rank unprofessionalism. Period. Do you reckon Pep, Klopp, Bielsa, Mourinho etc would agree with you ? I don't.

Stuart is a massive hero of mine, but on this occasion he got it wrong, as he did when he undermined Grayson by going out for that meal with current players when sacked. It's just not what a focussed, professional football manager would do.

Can you imagine Parky doing that ? He would have said thanks lads but concentrate on getting it right for your new boss and not on me. Don't bother responding, we will just have to agree to disagree as in mind mind there is no justification.
