I remember a time when everyone wanted "young and hungry" players.

It turned into the wank squad and almost into relegation .

Just seen GA trying to explain the recruitment policy at the club - sorry guys everything being said is just too controlled. We all know whats going on and what the agenda is. The club means way, way more to us than the ER business model can ever recognise. Its in our blood and in families down the years, its well and truly part of our lives. They really are taking the fans for mugs - ER in the T&A this morning trying to explain how the new (youth) coaches will 'have all the freedom they want'. Please to God, know one can seriously believe this crap - it goes against everything else we hear coming out of the club. As many are saying, we will all get behind the new coaching team but please stop feeding us this drivel. Believe me, if some of the dealings over the past 6 weeks came out even the Rahic believers would have great difficulty putting a positive spin on events. I keep saying rant over...............but its probably not!

That squad you are talking about, was wank but the majority of it wasn't young.

Simon Ramsden, Guy Branston, Luke Oliver etc

It was just a wank squad.

Ramsden and Oliver were already there weren't they?

The focus of that strategy was young and hungry. Whatever happened it was nearly a disaster.

That season we had a development squad, had lots of crap released from youth teams. We brought in some Scottish players and some shite upfront.

In came a new manager after Jackson went and he brought in the likes of Matt Duke and some more dross that managed to muster enough points together to stay up.

The squad wasn't particularly young, it was just wank.

I’m simply going to see how it goes next season. We’re a few weeks away from the start and a lot still to happen.

The club has been run in the same way the last 15 years or so and the best we’ve managed is back to league one. Maybe, just maybe, it’s time something else was tried.

So how do you rate this squad, level-for-level. I get it's not a League Two team, but how strong do you reckon we are?

Average league 1, nothing to get excited about but nothing to be worried about.

Despite what people say the players aren't all that bad, it did have some weak players in there and often you see players names mentioned as being first teamers when they weren't in an attempt to have a dig at the guy who picks the team now ;-)

The squad was and isn't much worse than other league 1 teams, our fans just expect everyone we sign to be from the top end of the championship rather than from teams around or below us.

We sell the cheapest of season tickets, have a limited income but somehow we are meant to be signing players way beyond our means because fans demand the best for their £169.

Pay Aldi prices, get Aldi products.

You'll see how it goes next season, then you'll see how next summer's recruitment goes, then you'll see how it goes..........

At what stage do you accept that we're going backwards? Do we need to get relegated before you get worried?

I agree the squad as it stands isn't one of the worst in the division - but sometimes, it isn't the worst squads that get relegated - it's the most chaotic clubs that get relegated.

I think you're right about a lot in your post; and really, if we're paying Aldi prices, getting someone like Riley is fine, and so is having someone like Isherwood as a reserve team player. What's slightly worrying is we aren't getting bang for our Aldi buck with players like Poleon, Brunker, and them German keepers we had. And when we did spend money last season, we DEFINITELY didn't get bang for our buck.

I think McCartan and Poleon, realistically, ARE bang average League One players, so not the end of the world by any means, but not the kinds of players capable of turning our form around.

I'd love to see a couple of players who can do that; and given we've signed the likes of Wyke, McGowan, even Robinson, it shows it can be done. We just have to make sure we're not signing warm bodies just to fulfil some fantasy about how cheap players can be sold for billions.

So you say we are used and love being in the lower reaches. Then the question has to be asked why are we always there. Isn’t it time something different. If I am honest I would have preferred the conventional management of a manager managing
We have had one bad third of a season that could be just a blip not going back

    In a nutshell, pretty much.

I’ve supported City about 25 years. In that time we’ve dropped from the Prem to League Two. Now that’s going backwards in a very big way.

What’s happened the last season or so is merely a slight inconvenience compared to that. We’ve basically gone from not getting promoted from league one to missing out on the playoffs by a few points.

So, whilst things may seemingly not be going smoothly, I’m willing to give this new approach more time.

Now Doyle. Told whilst on holiday.
    Rahic you classless pillock.
Why would anyone want to work for such an arrogant idiot.
Exactly why we could not get a coach to work for us. The secret is out.
Bradford city has a lunatic in charge of the club.
Rahic get out of our club.
