    There's a guy sits behind me who whenever a female assistant referee (formerly known as linesman/person) put her flag up shouts "put the kettle luv". Very Harry Enfield Yorkshireman. Not very PC these days but still has people laughing.

    To you it obviously isn't and I respect that. Just because something isn't acceptable anymore doesn't mean people aren't allowed to find it amusing. We don't as yet have "thought police".

    People aren't laughing at what he is saying, they are laughing at him. There is a difference I would have thought.

    Since when? There is even a sparate thread where posters can share their jokes with the rest of us. There is nothing to stop you laughing out loud if you want to!

    We will however continue to remove sexist and racist and other offensive material whether in the Joke thread or elsewhere on the site. Some might want to continue living in the 60's and 70's when so-called humour including sexist and racist material was widely accepted. Society has however moved on in the past 50 years and what might have been acceptable then may well these days be considered offensive or worse. Times have changed and that's just how it is now whether you like it or not.

    Agree with most of that except the 50 years bit, I would say that it's only in the last 10 years or so that humour has had to be censored and cancelled, humour is subjective obviously and if something makes you laugh you shouldn't have to stop and think that it's ok, if it doesn't make you laugh then that's on the individual too..
    Remember ballroom dancing was popular in the 50's, still goes on today uncensored..!!
