Currently self isolating as the kids got Covid watching the Euros in the pub in Bingley. Had tickets for Doncaster & tonight at Guiseley which I had to give away. Not bothered about a refund. Covid passports for me are coming like them or not. It gives Johnson an excuse to shift blame to to the plebs & not him and his mates who are okay to go to Wimbledon, Henley, Ascot etc without. Until the public wake up & understand the total shit show that our PM is, then nothing will change. He is a Poundshop Trump & beyond dangerous.

My lad has had 2 jabs and still got it, although with mild symptoms, Daughter has only had 1 jab, but made no difference still mild symptoms.

All being well, will be released back into the wild to be at VP for Saturday.

I passed comment with regards Ryans quote about not having Claret & Amber season tickets and to just have a season ticket , I thought talks must have taken place as we would surpass the figure of 8,000 4,000 Claret & 4,000 Amber obviously that is not situation with this article.
I can't see how a time slot for going to your seat is workable, as many have pointed out they meet up with fellow City fans have a drink and a natter then make their way to the ground good luck with this one Ryan.

Better a Poundshop Trump than a Barrack Room Lawyer who looks permanently stressed to heart attack levels, however I agree that the more this goes on the more the shitshow deepens. Seems no-one, of any party colour, is learning from their mistakes. Sixteen months in and no-one seems to be able to make a clear concise decision about anything.

I predict another coalition Govt at the next general election, with the raving looney party holding sway.

Hasn’t Boris’ popularity actually increased through the pandemic, bizarrely?

if labour can’t eat into that Tory majority at the next election like Danny Cadamarteri devouring a cheeseburger, they might as well pack in

    Agree.

don’t wanna rant on about politics on the City section but everything seems to have been done back to front during the pandemic. With regards to City, they are saying now you’ll need a covid passport to get in nightclubs from Sept but not sporting events from yesterday now we’ve reached ‘freedom day’.

So why let everyone mingle now?? Introduce passports now before lifting the restrictions and make people make that choice.

just like them being late to close airports last year and then introduce mask wearing too late.

i don’t have a problem with covid passports at City myself. We know vaccination is the only way through the pandemic. If that means kids aren’t allowed in short term then so be it.

I wanna see more testing of the vaccine before my own kids have it, though, as the risk vs reward doesn’t seem worth it for kids based on the data.

I mentioned earlier that isolation rules are the same now 17 months in as they were 3 months into the pandemic. We have millions of tests, millions of jabs have been given and people are still having to isolate at home even if they test negative every single day if someone from Test and Trace rings them. Surely we should have the infostructure to bring this up to date. The government's own eye has been so off the ball on this the top end of the cabinet are current off isolation making up pilot scheme to try get round it rather than bringing it up to date.

1 case in my daughters school year and the whole year is sent home, the fact every other child could test negative day after day makes no difference, it's 10 days isolation, it's a ridiculous situation.

All fans will be required to have been vaccinated to attend stadiums with a 16,000 or more capacity - Sky News breaking.

Covid passports will be a nightmare for the club.

Not everyone has a smart phone, adult ownership in the UK is at 84% overall but this is heavily skewed towards younger age groups and drops off to just 53% for 65+ which would equate to 874 current senior ST holders not being able to use the NHS app to gain entry to VP.

The young person age group for tickets is 17-23 which will mean that as it stands a 17 year old doesn't need a covid passport but they will as soon as they turn 18. Most 17 year olds can't yet get a jab (although it has just announced that those within 3 months of turning 18 will be offered them at some point - no date given for when this will happen though) which means that when that ticket holder turns 18 they'll have at 8 weeks of no football because they will need a passport but will not have been able to get both jabs. That'll obviously be a bit crap for the ticket holder but it means City will have to do ID age checks for everyone with a young person ticket.

There'll probably need to be extra stewarding to make sure that everyone in the queues has the proper documentation to get in and then there'll be hold ups as the as someone inevitably switches their phone off as they get to the turnstile or gets caught trying to blag it through with a screenshot or something. And that's assuming that the barcode/QR code readers that we've got for the new ticket system can handle the NHS app otherwise there'll be another step to go through to gain entry.

As for time slots for entry as alluded to in that DM article, that's fine for a big novelty event like a cup final but a bog standard L2 match, who wants to be in their seat 30/60 minutes prior to kick off(?) but the club will have to shoo everyone off the concourses because if everyone hangs about there buying stuff from the tea bar then it completely negates the value of staggered entry times.

On top of all this, look at the range of opinions in the responses on this thread, whatever policy regards facemasks and social distancing etc the club chooses to follow, they're going to alienate fans who think that the chosen approach is too strict/lax.

    That's not technically correct.

Anyone under 18 not offered a jab will be exempt from that.

Our average home gate in 18/19 was just over 16,000 so I'm guessing that we'd probably look to cap sales at 15,999 to avoid having to implement a bunch of rules that'd probably knock a chunk off our attendance anyway.
