Some things are inexplicable, like when we gave McCall a one year extension during a never ending losing streak........

 

I am certain it's a new position created but I think the purpose of it is to keep him at the club as he is in the long term plans for the manager's position.

 

I don’t think contracts are our forte. Didn’t we give him a contract and then fire him? Wait a minute, I’m thinking about McCall. Oh. Wait.

 

I'm with you on this one Fordy. There will be some making snide remarks about the club just creating a role that isn't really there etc. It was obvious that Trueman and Sellers had been doing a good job behind the scenes with a couple of the lads that came through last season. And if this new role helps get more young lads ready for the first team rather than letting them to go to a big club for a few quid just to balance the books then I'm more than happy with him taking on this role.


And from Trueman's point of view he will be close enough to Adams to learn about managing and motivating senior pro's when they take their foot of the gas (like the latter part of last season).

 

Sorry mate but I think you are wrong on this one. I think it's part of Sparks trying to create a better set up and Trueman probably suits that role having seen a couple of his lads come through last season.

He's been mulling it over for a few weeks now. Probably using the time to see what options are available elsewhere.

Probably so. I was just basing it on the very sketchy job description. Sounds a cushy role, and let’s be honest, MT deserves a bit of kind treatment.
