It's a nonsense idea that some fans are more ambitious than others.

It's an easy one to throw around because it can't be proven.

 

I don't get the abuse of Sutton. Sure we want better, we want it all across the pitch, but over the season I think he had more of an influence than Watt, who many lauded. Course he's not Iniesta but he can go past a man and can find the net. What he does need to find is consistency and he may find that easier if he isn't having to do all the running for the rest of the midfield. And I'm not a fecking happy clapper. Let's see what Adams thinks

I agree...I dont know anyone who doesn't want the best for their team when a season starts but i personally would rather us build a squad like Luton etc than crash and bang then not have the squad to make an impact a league higher. The hard work starts now

 

One person not joining Derek Adam's backroom staff is John McMahon he will remain at Morecambe as their club's assistant manager following the appointment of Stephen Robinson the ex Motherwell boss this afternoon.

 

Agree Fordy. Of course they're not happy he's gone - how would we feel if the manager who brought us promotion left within days? So yes, I get that. But denying him the right to celebrate the achievement with his players and staff just seems bloody mean. And also, a major cutting off their nose to spite their face. It's not like their board didn't know he was going.

 

Then it was bloody pathetic organization on their part. First thing you do if you're in the play offs with the possibility of going up, is put players holidays on hold for the week after. Covid? Hasn't stopped other clubs celebrating promotion atop a bus. Adams? They're being a bit snide here and using him as an excuse.

Nasty? Have a peruse of numerous clips on Youtube of Adams variously getting sent off, fighting with other managers, biffing players and generally being the man who refuses to stand down. I'll take all of that.

 

Blimey Foghorn, can you imagine what dismissive uproar there would be on here if we'd signed Stephen Robinson as manager?! Poor old Morecambe.

 

I think that’s the idea Adams doesn’t tend to have a regular assistant. I think Trueman will be his number 2

 

Think you might be right Park. Although a lot of players have followed Adams around from club to club, he tends to be a lone warrior when it comes to backroom staff, and mostly takes on with those that are already there.

 

They are out of contract and no longer employed by Morecambe FC so are free to go on holiday when they want.

 

Wouldn't you want to be on top of a bus picking up the applause for winning promotion, most of them for the first time in their careers? There's a few weeks before pre season starts - I'd rearrange my holiday by a few days to be on that bus! It's show my family, my kids et al what I've been striving for and first came into football to achieve.
