Summer 2021 Transfers

Apart from Reach, Burke, Cullen and Pickford im struggling tbh....we found a few good uns. A lot of duffs in them 5 years too.

O'Brien and Payne the only two that stand out since mind.

 

Levi Sutton did okay to say he was an inexpensive signing that Stuart brought over from his old club.

We relied on him far too much when we switched to 4 2 3 1 because we had no options in midfield.

He basically had to try and be the midfield enforcer because Watt and Cooke just aren't that type of player.

 

Ah, OK, I may have misheard. On my original point though, is there a max squad size this coming season?

 

Trapping a ball and playing a simple pass should be in the capabilities of any pro footballer. Midfield enforcer or not. Scunny released him.

I don't get the abuse of Sutton. Sure we want better, we want it all across the pitch, but over the season I think he had more of an influence than Watt, who many lauded. Course he's not Iniesta but he can go past a man and can find the net. What he does need to find is consistency and he may find that easier if he isn't having to do all the running for the rest of the midfield. And I'm not a fecking happy clapper. Let's see what Adams thinks.

By the way I don't think he is a midfield enforcer either but he brings other things

 

Sutton will be a better player for the games he got last season and am sure a new manager will improve him as well

 

Harry Anderson been released by Lincoln their fans seem to love him and described as a-legend at 24. Looks like a good signing for someone

 

Cullen & Hiwula (top scorer) in McCalls second time back, after that the only one to impress IMO was O'Brien from Town.

 

I believe it is 20 this coming season (1 less than last season). The PFA have threatened the EFL governing body over this decision.

I recall certain players aren’t included in the squad size. For example u21s don’t have to be included

 

Summer transfer window 2021 runs from June 9 to August 31.
Only days away before the activities commence.

 

Usually noted that things hot up following players taking holiday break. So the majority of signings could be the end of the month onwards.

I think we're going to have to trust Adams when it comes to recruitment. He's been there, done that and bought the t-shirt when it comes to building a promotion winning squad. We might not believe the players he brings in are the right ones, but I'm sure it'll be part of a master plan. The Samuel/ Stevens loans were wasteful for all concerned as it appears no thought had gone into either loans. Slightly worryingly Stevens was brought in under Turnbull.

I don't think Adams will adapt the scatter gun approach we've seen in the past.

 

As said last week 2 deals tied up and another 2 close to being finalised - should be some announcements this week, only consideration might be they want PR for them when DA is back from his short break in Scotland

 

He uses loan market well.. Unfortunately with having no reserves apart from fcd Staunton and scales rest are under 18s and not ready.
