The new thread will just go off topic again, there isn’t much to discuss.

 

Once window opens we will start getting some traction on this thread. Pretty sure Adams is in Scotland for a few days once he's back I'm expecting some ins.

Would be a massive signing imo, we have no DM and haven’t had any for a few years now.

 

Well Adams will know all about the lad as it looks like they were together at Plymouth.

 

It would be 4th time as he played at Ross County on loan .

 

Derek Adams has good dealings with Burnley and Newcastle Under 23s too..

 

If we are bringing on under 23s, I'd like to see some of ours.

 

Agree the signings need to be established players who know how to get out of league 2 anyway possible. Our youth players can fill out the squad and potentially make us some income for the future aswell. Develop our own youth benefits us not another club

 

Agree with both comments if Adams does go down the loan road they have to be players who can make an impact at league two level, no point in having the situation like last season with Samuel's and Stevens remembering Ryan has stated he want to get closer to Leeds I'd suggest that's with regards loanees.

 

If they’re coming in on loan and playing the odd game and coming on as a sub, Stevens, Burrell, Samuels and so on then I agree. If you’re bringing in players who are adding quality to the side, Lewis O’Brien or Jordan Pickford, then it’s correct to bring them in on loan.

 

He uses loan market well.. Unfortunately with having no reserves apart from fcd Staunton and scales rest are under 18s and not ready.

 

I'd add Sikora as becoming ready over the next season.

Question - is the maximum squad limit going to be in force this season.

I believe the salary cap has gone but I thought the squad limit was still a "yes/no/maybe" discussion? @Dennis you're usually up to speed on these league rules!

I ask because if we already have 14 under contract and have made offers to a few more then we don't have space for many signings if the squad size thing is still in place.

Regardless, Adams has been quoted as saying we should have a small squad so I can't see a lot of incomings unless a few leave.

 

Either that or he's building a new ground in Thornbury ?

 

I hope Adams looks to get Adam Philips on loan again from Burnley. He took him to Morecambe for the first part of last season and he was class at L2 level and scored a few good goals for them. Ended up at Accrington for the second part of the season but didn't play as much as far as I'm aware.
