Maybe not but neither was keeping him. They scored two goals in about ten games and he insulted the fans. A big no no.

And 1 of them was against us which had more than a slice of luck about it.

It can't have been fun for their fans to watch their season capitulate like that.

I suppose you're right, it's a no win situation - with that form, they weren't going up. Switching managers at the last second, extremely unlikely to pay off IMHO.

Makes you wonder why their was a toxic atmosphere, and whether that cost them the season? Was Hill right to blame the fans if that was the case?

Investment doesn’t always mean money. I hope in this case it does though! As you say, a three year contract must mean he believes he’s going to be given the main tools to do his job (and I don’t mean Drury as coach), so I hope you’re right!

Maybe wishful thinking, but you can’t set a target for the manager, yet not provide the tools. That you are right.

Adams held the cards as Bradford City wanted him. He is no fool he would have wanted x, y and z agreeing before signing.

Adams can work on a tight budget but he will know expectations are bigger here and also he will want his own staff.

Bloody Hell, I'm in shock as I'm agreeing with you Fordy.
So I'm just going to finish my bottle of red wine.
Then a couple of wee drams to keep the cold out.
    Stay Safe Fordy.

Ditto to pretty much all you say. I'd add a couple of things to your thoughts. He's the first manager who's come to us in years to say, no equivocation, my only aim is to get us promoted next season. No ifs, buts or maybes. So there for starters he's set out his stall, in black and white. Secondly, to achieve that, he may have to play some turgid football - let's remember this is the khazi league we're trying to get out of. But Adams has made it very plain for us all - judge me on my results. Four promotions so far, let's trust him to make us his fifth.

Agree Dave. TBH though, I couldn't agree with Morecambe cancelling their open top bus because Adams had gone, claiming they couldn't do it without Adams because of what he'd done for the club. It actually seemed a little petulant, putting the blame and shame on Adams for going, and robbed the Morecambe players and their fans of a rare celebration.

The manager is integral to the promotion parade. As he walked away it would probably have been a muted celebration, so I can understand the decision to cancel.

He was wise to go out at the top with Morecambe. They'll struggle like f... in League One and he knows that. But also he wouldn't have taken up the poison chalice of VP unless he'd been promised a realistic challenging budget and agreements on his methods, vision and backroom staff. He's learnt the ropes at Ross County and Plymouth. Both of which were struggling financially when he took them up through three promotions. And now Morecambe. He's an ambitious manager who wants to achieve more and right now, we're all a good fit. He is an astute guy. Yes, let's all wait to see how it works next season but personally, I think this is the most important managerial appointment we've made since Parky.

I think it was an awful decision. OK, so they may not be happy that Adams has gone, but he was one man at the club.
I think it was a sneaky way for the club to diss him.

If you were a Morecambe fan, you'd probably say it's Adams that "dissed" Morecambe by not honouring his contract.

That video interview with the Morecambe chairman says they have cancelled the open top bus because Adams would not be available but also said some of the players had gone on holiday, 4 minutes into the video.

And it gave the Morecambe public chance to show their support they had been missing all season.

Considering no other club who has won something or achieved something has had an open top bus I think it harsh to imply it was cancelled because of Adams leaving.

However, Adams is a legend at that club just like Parky is here.
