New Manager - Welcome Derek Adams

We've been far too soft, for far too long. I won't pretend to have seen much of Morecambe but I did watch their playoff games and I was struck by how well they defended their penalty box and how they did the ugly well, as a side. We spent last season protecting our box about as robustly as a 19 year old scouse lass in Magaluf.

 

You're right, we have been too polite for years and look where it has got us...

 

I think he's right. Watt, Cooke, Staunton, Vernam, Canavan, Sutton - that's a decent nucleus. Crankshaw, FCD, Sikora, Foulds - thats a decent crop of youngsters. And whilst I think POC is hit and miss, there's talent there and if he sort NKP into a solid L2 centre back, I'm sure he can do it with POC. The only real players in our squad that I don't see having a real role to play are ROD and Evans. The other positions that need strengthening, he's got room and budget to do so.

 

Pretty much bang on for me , RoD as number 2 I can stomach…just!

Proven manager, promotions on his record, 7th place will do as long as we go up.

Don't care about style of play, just care about finishing 7th as a minimum.

Quite a few City fans who are claiming they're very happy with the appointment will soon be using terms like Boreyer and complaining that we don't attack teams enough.

To them: please be self aware enough to accept you have no patience

When T &S were relieved of their positions didn't Ryan state that he hoped Mark Trueman would stay on as the new manager's assistant?

 

No, he never ever said that.

 

They were both offered roles. The assumption on here is that one will assistant and the other back to youth development.
Worth keeping them on, you could argue that anyone could have done better than Stuart but let them learn and develop more under a new manager

Why sod Morecambe? It sounds like we've gone about things in a professional and respectful manner, which is exactly as it should be.

 

On a side note it was nice to learn that fat b*astard Lee Power is in court over a £4m swindle.

He had a lot to say about our club and fans over the Doyle fiasco.

 

Well here he is. He talks well, no hiding from the target “promotion” We will just have to put up with turgid football at times. Feel free to remind me that my criticism is unjustified and the goal is promotion. Just bought my season tickets, let’s hope that come August we can get down to VP.

Been running a course of Walking Football sessions for Cancer patients today so been very emotional and very uplifting. Just got back and more uplifting news finally confirmed re Derek Adams, all we ask Derek is you make us proud to be City fans again, show us a team that cares (and can challenge at the top end) and we will support you all the way

 

To be fair, Millwall were blowing out of their collective arses at half time but Stuart failed to finish them off.
