New Manager - Welcome Derek Adams

Sometimes I think Parker just makes things up as he goes along, yesterday it was a deadcert and he was talking about who Adams might bring in. Which to be fair due to Sparks saying we weren’t interviewing and the manager had a say in the retain list I thought that was probably correct. Now he’s saying City are pushing for an answer, does he know this or has he just made it up because it’s a contradiction to what we’ve previously heard. Personally I think an agreement has already been made and will be announced this week but it makes me question why Parker put such a headline in this morning which doesn’t actually have a quote from the club to back his headline up.

Don’t think there’s any need for fans heads to wobble off yet, let’s wait to the end of the week to see what transpires. If we don’t have an appointment though then questions need to be asked.

 

Maybe Sparks gave Parker a bollocking over yesterday's article and he's now published today's saying we're waiting for an answer.

 

I don't think he has a pipeline for the heavy stuff. Remember him dismissing the German takeover only for it to be announced the next day!!!

I am absolutely certain he is on here fishing......and we are his main resource.

 

One thing we do need to do is to stop having a go at Adams style of play before he has even started, if it is him he will have one objective and that will be to get us out of this crappy division next season. He has had success at his previous clubs and whatever their limitations Morecambe showed a lot of good traits yesterday that will be necessary for us to adopt if we are to have success.
There are not really any good football sides in Div 2 so we need to get our heads out of the sand and accept what we need is a winner, be it a bit ugly at times. We have to accept where we are and not to keep looking above our station before we have actually achieved anything.
If it is a bit ugly and we are not winning, then is the time to be frustrated and to start asking questions - but the new man (whoever he is) will need us behind him from the start and not sniping at how he sets about getting us up there

Adams, who previously won promotion from League Two during his time with Plymouth Argyle, has been linked with the vacant role at Bradford City, but the Scot said he had not committed his future elsewhere.

"There's no deals done with any clubs. There's a lot of speculation on players and managers' futures. All I can say is that there's no deal done," he said.

"Today is all about making history and we've done that exceptionally well throughout the season.

"I've got a contract with Morecambe and that's what I'm playing to."

When is his contract up, that last comment suggests to me his contract is up soon ?.

Morecambe have scored plenty of goals and with a few different players which doesn’t suggest ultra defensive tactics. Also he has got the best out of players like NKP and Mellor another good sign

Well Sparks would be clearly lying then when he said the new manager was involved with the retained list.

This can only be done if a club had agreed compensation.

 

Do you really believe we have got this far and not done that yet ? If It's Adams that part is signed and sealed (though Morecambe could renege on that now he has another promotion on his CV).

You heard from Adams it's not a done deal and he has 12 months on his contract to run if he isn't a man of his word don't want him
Time to wake up and realise the club don't get it right everytime

You like the rest of us have no idea what’s happening so until there is something concrete which says you are right surely it’s best to reserve the criticism

By the same token blindly praising something that may not even happen should be left until something concrete happens
Rose tinted spectacles on a whim can be very damaging

 

I haven’t done that it will be a good appointment if and when it happens if for any reason it doesn’t you will have every opportunity to dance up and down with glee
