    I know, there's no chance of getting him given he has a swansong ready to go back with Dundee to the SPL. Shame though, he could really be the next Gary Jones.

    Who is worse than Diagouraga, who was promoted with Swindon as Champions last season, and now is in the running to help Morecambe to promotion?

    Paul Green was 36 last season when he helped Crewe to second place.

    Then there's 33 year old Chris Lines who helped Northampton to promotion via the play offs.

    In fact, what if I told you that statistically, most clubs that get promoted from League Two do so with a midfield that revolves around an older stalwart who could be said to be on his jollies enjoying his retirement season?

    Yeah, I think you've got this one wrong, mate ;)

    If having an older stalwart in the midfield is one of the critical components in being promoted, maybe we should have played Evans more often? Rather than getting rid of him, we'd better play him more regularly this coming season. ;)

    ... or, alternatively, we could NOT do that.

    I think I'm in favour of the latter course of action ;):joy:

    However, I'd be in favour of signing a very experienced defensive midfielder for sure!

    I think Dennis was pointing out that the majority of league 2 teams have at least one older mf. Doesn't get them all promoted does it?

    Been told we have 2 deals done but NOTHING will be announced until the new Manager is in place - patience fellas as we only have to wait until Tuesday (be very surprised if anything is said on the day of the Play off final) and should be exciting times from then on as the plans for the club, both on and off the field, start to fall into place
