Mate you're taking what I said to be massively more confrontational than how it actually is, because you still won't answer the question.

What has Farage got to do with anything, Your the one who is obsessed by him, Brexit will have ups and downs and will take 2 years to settle and then reap the benefits, Only a fool does not realise that especially in a worldwide pandemic

No need, it is the fact of life, Some people want to buy on price and some on quality, The product does not matter, You should know this, Those wanting a Bentley would not Consider a Skoda because it is cheaper and of course competition in general drives up quality

My point is that most people and especially in the middle of a pandemic, don't have 2 years to wait.

So basically you are saying that all they have to do is up the quality, up the price and folk will buy it in their droves. As though there is no price sensitivity.
I wonder why they haven't been doing that for the past few decades? Your solution is delusional. Even if it worked it could only possibly work for a small minority. There's only a very finite number of people who can afford your Bentley, they are far exceeded by those who can afford a Skoda.

Does anyone actually know the current tariffs? It would seem to be a relatively crucial point on this.

If the Aussie farmers are suddenly going to be have a 50% advantage over our farmers then I can see the disastrous predictions coming true. If it's 10% then it's a different conversation.

Most farmers try sell on quality and the price difference will be small, But yes those determined to buy on price regardless of the quality will by imported meat, The price of meat varies enormously even on home produced depending again on quality, And on a political point should the rest of the population be deprived of cheaper food because of a handful of hill farmers who over the years have refused to change their ways?

I understand at present it is around 12.8% but some in the cabinet want a lower tariff and some none at all

Why do you think they are refusing to change their ways? What evidence do you have for that assertion?
It's fairly obvious that they are very limited in what they can do. The quality market is limited. That's probably why the discount supermarkets are doing so well. Farmers can't change to something that isn't viable, a limited number can but it won't be big numbers. So you will have to accept the cheaper competition from Oz and let the home farming industry deteriorate somewhat.

Partly agree but most farmers are at the mercy of the big supermarkets and of course some of those have there own farms, It may influence such as McDonalds but as they promote that they only use British products I doubt it, The whole thing is blown out of order by the SNP who see opportunities to promote independence

We beat Germany in a competition for the first time since 1966, We could never beat them while in the EU but soon as we are free of EU control we beat them, Coincidence? or another Brexit bonus ? :):cool:
