I can, sarcasm (towards the events), I think it’s called, he made me lol!

 

I said earlier today that Wellens was a red herring.

 

Managing what though. Get smart ...that’s Johnson’s speak for smoke and mirrors!

 

We're by far a more attractive and bigger club than Plymouth.
Even the geographics of both clubs gives us a massive head start

 

What happens if they win the playoffs and get promoted? I can’t see him ditching the challenge of a new division, just because we’re a “massive club”. Then what?

 

So you're also assuming that whoever we spoke to would automatically just sign for us when you say Wellens isn't coming because he would have signed.

It's so odd how folk assume that Wellens would just sign right away - he's clearly going to listen to several offers then decide which is best.

And those that say "well we don't want someone who is not sure" are also utterly naive - that's life! People always shop around for the best deal!

 

Perhaps the challenge of a new club, supercedes the challenge of a new division.
A manager that wants to be here, fits Sparks' vision.

The clue is in what Sparks' has been saying, he's obviously got his man lined up.
Telling us we're not seeking applicants, telling us the announcement will be made shortly.
He's not waiting for someone to make their mind up at what option of club they've got.
The manager joining us is somebody that's bought into Sparks' vision.
If Wellen's was on board in that vision, he'd have already been on board, he never was the one.

I mean, of course we could never have been talking to more than one manager cos you know imagine how well that would have gone if we only had one target and then he turned us down. Yep, that would look really professional.

So are you saying the new manager has signed a legally binding contract ?

 

Maybe we have spoken to more than one person, it's a possibility yes, but the fact is that at the point T&S were relieved of their duties and the announcement was made that we are not seeking any applicants, it was clear that Ryan believed he had his man. So if that man was Wellens, why is he now being lined up at Donny? Either Sparks has made a massive balls up or Wellens (at the point of the announcement being made), was never the man in question.

 

Or Wellens got a better offer and said "sorry, this is better, sorry for mucking you around"

Which is what happens in the real world.

Person looks for new job, one business offers £x then another offer comes for £x+5 and you forget about the first one and because you haven't signed anything you just walk away and carry on with your life.

There's two sides to every story and the correct side is NOT always "City are crap, unprofessional, Sparks is disorganised" and all that other nonsense. He'll make mistakes as much as anyone but not everything fails because of City/Ryan's fault. The incessant finger pointing is ridiculous.

 

I gave that option in the 'Ryan has made a massive balls up scenerio'. If that is what has happened, he will rightly get pelters, because you shouldnt come out all c0ck of the walk and make an announcement that you are not seeking applicants unless you are absolutely convinced the deal is done.
I don't think that is what's happened btw, I'm of the view that Wellens was never 'the one'.

 

Why the comparison with McCall?. Should you not be comparing Evans with Derek Adams?
