How embarrassed would you be to win this tomorrow.

After dreadful season you'd think the club wouldn't bother, no one deserves any awards for this season, surely they can't see fans bothered.

I think Cooke is probably deserving of the award. He really pushed on from last season and had he not been injured, may have helped us limp over the line into the play offs.

Callum Cooke for me. I wouldn't say he has been outstanding, but better than the other very mediocre bunch

Sam Hornby would be my pick, Plus had to put up with been messed about by poor management decision to drop him before they saw sense and brought him back.

Can only be Callum Cooke or even Andy Cook who’s already top scorer this season, but nothing to brag about.

Danny Rowe, those powerful shots in the warm-ups were something else. Although his spell was brief, without doubt one of City's all-time greats.

Bit of a strange comment this. On a thread a while ago you bemoaned that AOC never scores goals (amongst other shortcomings). Here we are now and you're putting an attacking midfielder up for POY with 3 goals to his name. (the same as AOC).

If we're giving it to Callum Cooke, the midfielder with 4 goals in 3 years we've got the bar set so low I wouldn't be bothering with the awards at all.

Not sure what the other 2 years have to do with this year's POTY but I'd assume if Cooke did get it that it was because his ball retention is very good, his pass completion is excellent and his work rate is also very strong.

He certainly should score more, that a part of his game he seriously needs to improve but even despite the lack of goals he's was still very influential in our good run of results in the early days of T&S.

I'd award it jointly to Wood and AOC for their consistency. Consistently passing the ball endlessly to each other all season.

Was it last season the POTY award was cancelled I don't think it's a bad Idea to do the same again this season, or maybe call it the player of the half year award, apart from getting us safe there is little we can take from yet another poor season.

I'm sure your right about Cooke but when you consider the historical stats and facts perpetually dug up on scapegoat AOC I feel a quick look at his 3 year goalscoring record is proportionate.

Glad that you added "in the warm-ups" because he did nothing much during the match. As a (hearsay) "disruptive player" we are well rid of him.

It is right for this year's player of the year awards to go ahead, if only to allow Callum Cooke to pick up the raft of trophies his performances have deserved.

There's also going to be a well deserved goal of the season award as well.

It can also be argued that the young player of the season award will be well deserved, as a few of our younger players were asked to do more than might reasonably have been expected of them.

There are also non-first team awards to handout.

So, whilst we may not be enthused by this year's awards ceremony, and whilst most players need not 'turn up' (just as they didn't in most matches), the show must go on. Let's hope the 2022 awards ceremony turns out to be talking point for all the right reasons.
