    Is it me being cynical or does this whole thing feel deliberate now to keep under soem form of lockdown?
    India is out of control yet we have let people in until 04:00am tomorrow and we have had the new variant for weeks? I just can’t get the logic

    Problem is when they did the first flight ban and did it straight away and there was a lot of complaints about it and how people didn’t have chance to get back etc so since then they seem to have given notice.

    They can not win either way

    I agree and it should have been the same when the bans happened for travel from Europe etc earlier in the pandemic

    and that includes going forward so if when foreign travel is allowed there is a pike in Spain for example the decision should be immediate and that is the risk people take going away

    Seems to be drip fed at the moment. I am in the Over 40s but Under 50s and it seems they will offer me it at some point but not like the rest. Are there a shit load of 44 year olds that they need their own group?

    Meanwhile the EU announces it is suing AstraZeneca for not supplying enough doses, at the same time as one of its countries (Netherlands) announces it is about to throw away almost 10 million unused doses.

    And worryingly Isreal have found a possible new side effect with the Pfeizer one that effects men around 30, so similar age range to the clotting in the Oxford one

    I believe it is the body's adaptive immune response that is the issue to many of these side effects (as opposed to the innate immune response that some people get in the first couple of days).

    If that is the case then we will probably see it across the board, whether it is having one of the vaccines or catching the virus itself.

    Either way, the serious side effects are proving to be extremely rare.
