The vaccine programme is probably the best advert for Brexit. Even the respected German newspaper The Bild had the Union Flag on their front page yesterday with the headline that they envy the British

He was on the radio yesterday morning. I am just quoting him. He said that Britain had given another £28m to France to help them stop illegals trying to cross the channel. Yet yesterday and the day before the french navy escorted the flotilla of small boats halfway across. Border force picked up one boat yesterday with 12 people on board all of whom tested positive for covid. He also claimed that while covid was declining throughout most of Kent it was on the increase in Dover and Thanet.

It is probably cheaper to try and stop them at that end rather than our end. There is no reason for France to be fussed about stopping people leaving, if they stopped checking people would get found on this side of the channel and then they are here

I read the same article if the French vessels are escorting them into British waters, have a British navy boat ready to escort them back.

Yet lorry drivers can't take a butty into the EU ;), immigration was one of the major concerns in the referendum and that was legal movement with regards EU citizens not illegal immigration, Patel need to get her department sorted.

    I read your post

You said "none of thee fearmongers were right"

So I pointed out areas where they were right. And also areas where the brexiteers claims were false.

You said "the remainers got it wrong", so I just corrected you.

Of course it didnt happen before brexit, there was an agreement to be a relaxation for a period of time, it looks like the EU have reneged and are clamping down from the end of December shouldnt be a suprise for most leave voters you only have to look at what they did to try and stop pre-ordered vaccine destined for the UK.
Now David Frost is involved again I think things will change, as has been said we could play the same game.

The EU making themselves look mean, vindictive and rather silly at the moment.
Think the cracks are really starting to show now.

They hate the fact that the Tories have rolled out a well organised vaccine programme while they just bumble along with no clear strategy. Not good PR in a PR point scoring competition.

Agreed. The EU have made a massive horlicks of the vaccine issue.
But before everyone gets all giddy about our vaccine success, let's not forget that our government has spent the last year making so many wrong decisions that, despite the obvious advantages of being an island, we have one of the worst Covid death rates in the world. It was about time they got something right.

I knew that was coming and is a fair comment. Unfortunately that isn't what comes across on the media platforms.
The tories could and should have dealt with some things a lot better, although the '130'000' deaths can be questioned when not everyone is collating data the same way. But on the other hand the Tories have also shown with their handling of the vaccine rollout is that the EU does have major problems, ones they were never wiling to budge on. The best scenario for Brexit would have been for dialogue and an admittance on both sides that changes were needed so all parties came out feeling they had been listened to. What we now have is the product of when no one wants to admit they were wrong, that the system should have been flexible to allow change while still allowing membership.

The island thing is overplayed because of the interconectivity we have with the rest of Europe.

The problem with the mistakes that we view as the government making is that almost all of them have been replicated by governments in Europe. There's very little differentiation.

They only thing that does noticeably differentiate in the vaccine rollout and on that front it's a completely different ballpark and the reason for the difference is the precise cause that people have always said is a weakness of the EU.

    hahaha youre so blinkered.

We live on an island we can quite easily control our borders. In fact that was what brexit was meant to do. And you lot do like to spout the fact we left in january 2020.

You really should go work in politics. You look at a situation and spin it round to being never the fault of brexit, britain always good, EU always bad.
