Unless we score pretty early I'd reckon it will be another low scoring affair. They'll be keen to keep it tight and most teams will have seen us winning and be more safety first I would have thought.

With Zero fans I don’t think tactics differ that much home or away

This is an analysis of the home form of Walsall, which is viewed as poor. Looking at it they seem to score on average a goal a game, yet lose more games. If they sit back and try to stop us scoring, then the chances of a draw or an odd goal, becomes greater. If they attack, then the game could open up and I would fancy us scoring a couple. A lot will depend on how Walsall set up and their game plan.

The loss of Adebayo has cost them they were on a decent run before that and probably was the reason Clarke jumped ship

Watt is 3 or 4 yellows off a two match ban if accrued before mid-April. Not sure about Sutton, but probably needs a few more.

It's an interesting hypothesis. I've always wondered why an away team couldn't play as if they were at home. All in the psychology I guess.

Still, would be interesting to do some analysis of home/away data this season versus previous ones.

I have no statistics to back this up but there does seem to be quite a few more away wins throughout the leagues where there is no fans....

It's got a low scoring draw written all over this for me against the draw specialists of the division.

A draw wouldn't be such a bad thing to keep the points ticking over, but I cant help feeling we ought to capitalise on Walsall' s downer on losing their manager and top scorer in recent weeks

I heard on sky t'other day that there has been more away wins than home wins. So I did a quick look. To date... Home wins 93, away wins 98...

Took it one step onwards. Looked at league 2 this season vs league Two completed season 2018/19.

    2018/19 season home wins 244 (44.21%), draws 148 (26.81%), away wins 160 (28.98%)

    2020/21 to date. Home win 138 (39.65%), draws 94 (27.01%), away wins 116 (33.33%).
Projected H-D-A based on data to date. Home win 219, draws 149 away wins 184

Of course. Not the same as PL in terms of away wins but a shift of around c15% more away wins in L2 (approx 24) this season, than the last completed league 2 season.

Certainly agree Park. Home fixture always benefits two matching sides. No crowds has certainly become a leveller for the away side.

It certainly must have an influence... A little more research reveals.

Completed 2018/19 season home v away wins

    Premier league H 48% A 34%
    Championship H 44% A 27%
    League 1 H 42% A 32%
    League 2 H 44% A 29%

    To date, 2020/21

    Premier League H 38% A 40%
    Championship H 42% A 33%
    League 1 H 40% A 37%
    League 2 H 40% A 33%

I wouldn't say leveller as such but has certainly narrowed the potential advantage the home team has.

Show us lot, for posting our opinions, I hope if he does not start and is brought on we don't need him to show us, I'd prefer us to be winning and Rowe is just getting his match fitness back wouldn't you?.
