Time to reflect again on our owner? He came into us, honestly admitting he knew nothing about football. And what huge mistakes he made, all well catalogued and commented upon, on here. He has though in the last few months, sanctioned a lot of really positive activity, again as discussed on here, and continues to keep us running financially, o.k. ing money for an ambitious transfer window, and agreeing on the creation of new staff roles. Many have clamoured for a Rupp buy out, but...from whom? If you were a hard headed businessman/woman and were casting around to buy a club with potential/assets, would you go for one that doesn't own its own stadium or training ground? Over at Hull City, who are in a similar situation, the Allam family have been trying to sell that club for years. Maybe right now, we should just appreciate that though not being many people's 'perfect owner' , he continues to indicate he's here for the longer haul. Rupp isn't a financial shyster ( like many other clubs have had to suffer and some destroyed by). His other businesses are very stable. And after all this early mistakes, continues to be here.

    No, no and no.

Until he gets us back to the position when he took over, I won't forget his part in the regression of this club.

But I will forgive. Too early when we are mid table in the khazi league to have this debate.

As far as I am concerned, he has had to throw good money after bad to avoid losing the majority of the money he has invested. He has got lucky in the appointment of two rookies, who appear to have transformed the football side of the club. What they have achieved is remarkable.

I am pleased he didn't just write off his money and let our club die. However, he needs to do a lot more after the past three years of decline.

Yes, I think that is a fair assessment. I've never wished ill on the man nor ever will.
But as the club show forward momentum, headed by Rupp (it cuts both ways) and the country has light at the end of the tunnel from lockdown, it allows a calmer reflection on things. So many times, Bradford City frustrated the bloody hell out of me and I remain in the belief, that Rupp was as much to blame as Rahic. I voiced off on here but what do I do, when I see the club in bloody dire straits?

Look if Rupp was to move on, good. If he is to stay, then upper half in league 1 is the minimum to atone his mismanagement.

Just remember owners dont grow on trees and good ones even less so - yes Stefan has made mistakes (he has admitted as such) but he has stuck by us. He has the personal wealth to have walked away making a 'loss' but he hasn't, football is not his main interest but I have the feeling he wants to have some success and leave us with a legacy so he can hold his head up on his time with us. I just dont see the value in constantly berating him for the errors he made, we all make them - he has riden them out and he is supporting us through the most difficult time football (and all business) has faced.
For my part I am grateful for this and that he is part of our club

Good points. And though I can understand people's anger at him for past mistakes, that was then, this is now. We can't live in the past. That's too often been our problem as a club.

Rahic was never his mate. Hardly knew him by all accounts, until he allowed himself to be conned into 'the man who knows football's' vanity project. Rupp made a bad business mistake by being taken in by Rahic, but seems honourable in his intentions with us since. Many, many businessmen would just have cut their losses, withdrawn all support and pulled the plug on us way before now. Look at some of the horror stories up and down the country.

It’s hard to forgive his ineptitude allowing Rahic to destroy the club and take us backwards, but he’s still here and funding the club. As we know it isn’t easy finding the right manager and to his credit he gave Bowyer the funds to bounce straight back but it wasn’t to be. Just as Lawn & Rhodes got lucky with Parky, let’s hope Rupp gets lucky with T&S.

Did we need another thread on him? All it does is bring up the same old arguments. He’s not worth discussing until he does something of note imo, that’s not me being harsh on him I just don’t see creating a thread on him to build positivity towards him when we’re 11th in League 2 as very sensible.

No way will I forgive him as yet!

We need to get to at least midtable of div 1 then i might start but not a chance now.

If he sells the club I will be pleased.

It is not Rupps fault we are in league two and suffered relegation, That blame lies with a chairman who managed to pick 3 duff managers in a row, Although shoulders some blame for not appointing a better chairman CEO to run the club

Wilsden my intention to start a new thread was not to build positivity towards Rupp - my feelings remain mixed. It was to pose the wider question of...if not Rupp, then who? Who do any of us think will come along and buy us out, with no stadium or training ground we own? Any answers or thoughts from anyone? People you might identify or know of? If no-one has a practical answer to that, then maybe we should be careful for what we wish.

In law 'Actus reus' can still apply even if 'Mens rea' is not proven. Just because you didn't know you were breaking a law doesn't mean you are not guilty. Rupp was negligent in the running of this club, he had a responsibility towards this club, the history of this club and the fans of this club. He is as culpable as the lunatic he decided was fit to run it.

I've said this on here time and again. Until a fair and decent deal can be done with Gibb by any potential new owner buying back Valley Parade, then there won't be a new owner. Why would you invest loads of money in a football club that has no actual assets?
