Trueman and Sellars - permanent deal

They're under public scrutiny anyway, so I don't understand what difference it makes.

What is the lack of a permanent contract actually doing for them?

They're managing the club, doing interviews, their results aren't a secret, so... what's the deal?

 

Got to agree here it'd be like asking a youth team player who'd stepped in and out shone everyone to go back to playing boys football. They had a taste now and been successful so far can't see them wanting to go back to the shadows and tbh I don't want them to I like them they're doing a fantastic job!

 

Let’s pause for one moment and remember that they were given their roles with one target: Survive relegation. So far that hasn’t been achieved.

Now here lies the problem. They are by far and away over exceeding everyone’s expectations in terms of results. They have us playing good football again. They’ve played part in identifying and securing quality new additions to the playing squad, whilst moving on those who needed to go. Finally, and probably the most important to many of us on here - they’ve started to return some good and authentic positivity to our club, which has been missing for a long long time.

Already I like these guys, but need to remember that no job is done yet. They seem clear with the position they’re in. Sparks, Turnbull etc seem clear on the position they’re in. Until things are more definitive keep things as they are IMO.

In recent years some of our appointments have ended in such short term outcome. I’d rather us have better clarity on the mid-long term future of the club and the next appointment, when we know where we stand at that time.

All that said, right now in this moment nothing would make me happier if that appointment was T&S.

There’s no doubt about them getting the job in my opinion, it’s just a matter of when. They’re building something here and I doubt they’d be interested in looking elsewhere right now. Clubs who’d take a chance are most likely to be struggling at the wrong end of the table. There’s a relatively young group of people in all the key positions at the club. Who knows where we could end up?

If there’s any risk of them being enticed away, I’d suspect this to be toward the end of the season. Provided we’ve got them signed up before that point I’d carry on as is. Everyone’s happy with the situation so no panic just yet.

 

Ryan has said there is no rush and T&S are onboard with that, we have to put our faith in Ryan he's got most calls right so far, but I do agree they need acknowledgement for what they have achieved since taking over and I dont understand why they have not been offered the jobs permanently.

 

I think it's fair to say that they have achieved their initial goal of surviving relegation now.

I can think of no valid reason why they should not be appointed permanently now.

Let's get it done, put an end to speculation that someone else is lined up to take the reins in the summer, and they can concentrate on finishing this season strong and preparing for next season with the acknowledgment and backing of a permanent contract.

I'm delaying mine until they announce the package, then buying whoever is manager and whatever the cost. My club needs me.

 

They might be at Barrow before the end of the season, that’s the danger of dithering. Barrow have just sacked Michael Jolley. If I was their owner I know who I would approach.

 

You could. Look at it this way the more they prove themselves the better deal they will be able to negotiate

 

Think I’d rather be heat than there if I were them, they also already have permanent roles at the club which need replacements. I’m sure discussions are already in the pipeline behind the scenes. All parties are best keeping things private I don’t get the panic on here I really don’t, I’m 100% confident they will be in the dugout at the start of next season unless we already have someone else lined up which is unlikely.

 

Manger(s) of the month award probably?

 

Probably do us good, Barrow making an approach for them, might stir us into action and get those contracts drawn up.

Can you imagine the meltdown with fans if we lose them to someone else!

 

Why would they go to a club that sack a manager after just two months. They are in freefall, have had two managers in a short space of time and have furloughed players to reduce their squad.

Certainly seems that way. The statement the club have put out about the sacking says that it had quickly become apparent that the board and Jolley had different ideas about how the team should play. Firstly, not good news when the board are getting involved in matters on the field and secondly, surely they must have asked Jolley about his style of play during his interview and done their homework on him!

 

Why ? Do you really think Barrow are going to pay for 2 rookies when their in such a dangerous position

 

They were both useless.
