Cook hasn't done anything particularly wrong in the half games he's played but he doesn't seem to have quite the same link up play as Novak at the moment. Let's give him a couple more games but at the moment it feels like we're searching for another forward option or two.

Also feel like we need another option to Sutton and Watt.

Watt Sutton and Evans are a big part if the team and Clarke will be challenging as well so perhaps the recruitment wasn’t bad it’s areas where we didn’t recruit that was wrong

Not sure you can attribute an awful lot of blame to Hornby for the Morecambe goal.

I am our midfield play tonight was excellent it was sticking in the midfield mud at Exeter and we had no centre forward to by pass it

I agree. Really harsh to blame the keeper for that one.

Can't be arsed reading that morecambe review but it feels good to beat them as they've always been a bit of a bogey team. I thought they were decent and well organised. But we deserved that after playing really well and creating far more clear cut chances than them.

Their goal was a freak shot as was our second so that evened out! A Cook should have buried that header second half, Vernam had a great chance in the first half and Canavan was a whisker away from scoring and c Cooke also came very close. Their guy mendes was a handful and AOC did brilliantly well to nick the ball when he was through on goal. But otherwise they were resorting to long range speculative efforts and pumping long balls in which paudie and Canavan kept clearing.

Exactly the kind of game we'd have lost previously!

Edit Evans also came so close to scoring but for some smart defending from them. We really had so many good chances is a shame we couldn't have made it more comfortable

Guilty of judging Evans too early, he’s really putting his stamp on the games and seems to be improving every week.

Hes a subtle player. Not a flying winger but his movement is good, he's reliable in possession and his decision making is good. He works hard too. He's the ideal foil to Vernam

Where was he playing under Stuart?

He's certainly doing a very good job linking up with the midfield and strikers.

Morecambe looked a decent side and made us work for it tonight, but I thought we improved as the first half went on and, in the end, we should have put the game out of sight. Crankshaw, in particular, should have been getting on the end of that driven Rowe pass to the back post.

Delighted we showed the guts to come back from 0-1 down. Anthony O'Connor at right back is an improved. Canavan is slotting in well. I think we look solid with Evans on one side of the three and Vernam on the other. With O'Donnell coming in for Hornby, who needs dropping after another blooper (after costing us a point at Exeter too), and Rowe starting over Cook, we'll be a match for anyone in this league.
ill take it back when seen a replay but it looked to me his positioning was poor.

either way he needs dropping for the skipper after his rash moments against port vale and exeter

I’m not sure why you’re looking to drop Hornby, who’s been in a side that’s lost 1 of the last 6 games. Their goal was a lucky one for me and it would be harsh to blame him for that. I’m much more confident when the high balls come into the box, that he’ll catch the ball rather than O’Donnell who doesn’t command his 6 yard box.

As for O’Donnell as skipper, that was another McCall error that T & S have rectified. No way should he be skipper in my opinion. He’s someone who can’t organise the defence let alone the rest of the side. He should only be brought back in, if Hornbys performances affect results. At this moment in time they’re not so he deserves to keep the shirt.

So pleasing to see the style of play and the way we are now able to keep possession, the movement through midfield is top notch at times. The influence of T&S cannot be underestimated, they are producing a very entertaining team and our new additions are exciting and promise better things to come. The more we play the better we'll become and from the Coaches perspective the attention to detail they put into preparation is paying dividends. Definitely think they have made huge strides in turning things around and need recognition with the awarding of permanent positions. Great to be proud of the Club again..there is work to be done but light at the end of the tunnel, moreover there is a feeling of trust in the regime which has been absent for years.

I agree. And I thought his judgement at coming off his line last night, was noticeably better than against Barrow and Exeter.

You don't fit Clarke in he's not very good, this fawning over poor players for sentimental reasons has to stop.

Whilst Clarke is going to find it hard to get his place back he has been a big part of the good run we are on and will be useful as the season unfolds
