A little tongue in cheek, but if Trueman & Sellars lost three home matches in a row, then they would be under immense pressure. So @Fordy117@Fordy117 should he resign, be sacked or what? Leicester away, potential banana skin with RB Leipzig and a next home match being the Merseyside derby against a much improved Everton.

No! He should stay and aim get Liverpool into the top 4.

CL final, CL winners, PL winners, Super Cup winners, World Club Cup winners with basically the same squad. A drop off at some stage was always going to happen.

We all know that Gerrard will be taking over next and more than likely 2024 but Klopp could walk at the end of the season if Liverpool don't get into top 4.

Trueman replaced by Sellars at the last minute ahead of todays press conference.

Wonder if this has anything to do with the pressure Klopp is under at Liverpool?

Serious question @Fordy117@Fordy117 , what do you think is going on at Liverpool, you don't become a bad manager overnight, I can see Gerrard coming back if need be though...

They'd be bonkers to switch it, Pep had the same sort season last year.

We'll never see those sorts of seasons again like we saw when neither last more than two games.

What's going on? A number of things mate.

The first one is the no crowd. Some clubs including ours were always going to suffer because of the lack of crowd and I am not just talking about home supporters. I am talking about away support. Liverpool fans really get behind the team and that scares the other teams.

The second thing is Liverpool have been to the CL final, won the CL, won the PL with basically the same squad. Its just running out of steam a little.

The third thing is No VVD, No Gomez! Losing your two main CB's for the season is going to hurt.

Not getting used to using VAR. Other teams are cheating the system. Man Utd are an example of this. Liverpool are too nice.

Winning the main thing the players wanted in the PL might have taken some players eye off the ball a little. Players like Mane, Bobby are just not like what they were last season.

Klopp still wanting to play a high line and not trusting his young CB's. You can't play a high line if VVD and Gomez are injured. Play the young CB's and trust them.

I could go on but it's not that bad. Klopp is a great manager and think he getting frustrated not with Liverpool but with football and the world we live in. Covid times are hard for many in different ways. Liverpool have Gerrard lined up. The club plan things for years but Klopp isn't going anywhere unless he decides.

Man City have won the title this year but they did have a covid break and like we know it does seem that some clubs have used a situation to get a break in. City and Liverpool are by far the best teams in the league but this season has just given them teams that normally not up there a chance because they don't have to get use to change as much like having a fan base to support them and drive them on.

They look terrible, completely void of ideas and so low on confidence.

Their capitulation today was crazy. As soon as they conceded, their heads went down and they gifted Leicester the 3 points. Klopp just seems unable to change this negative mentality that has crept into his team.

His mums recently died and he couldn't attend the funeral due to travel restrictions. I doubt Liverpools form has been top of his priorities recently.

    Another 3 points lost today.

RB Leipzig next week, who are second in the Bundesliga.

Everton who are on the rise next Saturday!

The biggest Banana skin is Sheffield United the week after.

Is this potentially the ‘exit walk’?

It's swings and roundabouts with VAR. Some you get some you don't.

Is not long since people were using the term LiVARpool so I'm not having it that they don't (or didn't) get the decisions.

The issue now are players are just going down. Like Man Utd players for example. Liverpool players are too nice.

Except until the last few games Liverpool is one of the few teams whos home record was around the normal success rate of home sides. Last season where most of the season was played with crowds you averaged 2.89 points at home and 2.32 away. This season it's on 1.92 at home BUT that's been dragged down significantly by the last 4 home games where its seen 3 losses and a draw. Take that out and it's 2.75. So it's not been until a month ago that home form has collapsed so blaming lack of fans seems odd

You might want to tell that to the likes of Salah who is the master at engineering fouls, which is why you see him go down under no contact a fair few times as he has been doing things like leaving legs hanging expecting contact but it hasn't come but he is already committed to fo down.

And you got more penalties than most last season until the break, what's happened after the break and this season is your attackers have somewhat checked out, they aren't attacking the box the same so aren't drawing tackles and hence not being caught. And with VAR if a player gets caught its now more likely than not you get a penalty, United especially are driving into the box much more since the break last season and forcing defenders to do something

Oh come on. It largely hasn't been the defence that's the issues, its Salah, Firmino and Mane not turning up for most of the match. The style relies on the press starting at the top but those 3 are just walking like its a Sunday morning stroll most of the time. That's forcing the midfielders to have to do pressing even higher and it's seeing them taken out of the game.

Klopp had a similar problem in his last season at Dortmund, where he seemed to lose the players. They weren't buying into his style anymore and his style can't even afford one person not buying into it fully or it starts to fall apart, let alone if multiple people, especially the attackers start to get disinterested. He rallied them a bit in the second half and ended 7th BUT if he hadn't quit he was going to have wanted to offload most of that team and rebuild, Dortmund most likely wouldn't have allowed that which is probably why he walked away. I don't see Liverpool agreeing to that either in COVID times, just look at how much the haggled on Thiago who despite struggling so far was already priced way below what other players of his level were going for; so I wouldn't be surprised to see him walk

Knock on effect of shoring up Klopp's defence has left Liverpools midfield looking like midgetland!

Keeping Fabinho and Henderson in their natural positions would have given the front 3 better quality ball and better chances to score.
Gone cheap with shoring up the D whereas their rivals can never have enough quality players.
Top at christmas, nearly won the title 2 years in a row, won the champs league, won the world club cup and now have run out of gas but that was some team to watch.
    Jota looks a good pick-up.
Now we have to watch Pep play without a proper striker and walk the league and maybe a treble?
Who needs forwards, the worlds gone bleedin' mad.*

*Charlie Wyke bagged 4 goals yesterday- wtf.

They still have quality midfielders though. As I said their problem is the front 3 getting lazy. It;s why Jota looked so good as he was actually eager to put in the effort, something the other 3 seem to have lost. The midfielders are then having to press even higher than they were before which leaves gaps to be exploited, especially behind the FB's when they push forward. It's like in yesterdays game, the midfield were having to press fairly often right on the edge of Leicesters box. Leicester switched to a sort of a diamond which meant they could always have a player in the space the Liverpool midfielders left and then two of the other midfielders could break with runs outside behind the full backs causing Liverpool all sorts of issues. If Firmino, Salah and Mane stopped being lazy, pressed from the font like they are supposed to be the midfield press could be further back, leaving less room between midfield and defence and they would be better placed to then deal with any attempt to exploit the space behind the FB's
